Grammy looks the goods!
He is much stronger in the upper arms and chest as well as in the legs. On the other hand, he has lost none of his pace. He runs away from most and, with that added strength, he is going to be very difficult to grab and hold. He is a totally unique type of player and no-one seems to be able to tag him because of it. If he stays fit, he could win a medal (hopefully one that the other 21 get to wear as well.) On the other hand, we were playing Freo (luckily we get to play them twice), so we shouldn't get too carried away. But like about six or seven others, he has improved since last year, and that's what will be required to go the next step.
Every posession is damaging, some damage the opposition, some damage us. A good footballer and many good attributes, still mis hits a few though. Great game tonight.Spinner wrote:Loved his work when in the middle!
Every possession is damaging for Gram....Thats why when he gets a bit of it, he really stands out!
Just needs to do it more consistently!
Maybe this year?

Why would he have lost his pace?perfectionist wrote:He is much stronger in the upper arms and chest as well as in the legs. On the other hand, he has lost none of his pace.

some players bulk up too much and the weight slows them down slightly.Beej wrote:Why would he have lost his pace?perfectionist wrote:He is much stronger in the upper arms and chest as well as in the legs. On the other hand, he has lost none of his pace.
Really impresses me with his discipline in keeping to his position as an outside runner. He is also lowering his vision and hitting up leading targets really well.

I've been very impressed with Grammy in the 2 weeks he's played. Looks like he's picked up where he left off in the GF. Whether he is actually at that level yet is questionable but then again it's only NAB Cup and no one is totally on fire. He's really getting involved and he's kicking goals, sometimes very long goals.
But to me there's one reason I'm rapt about his performance and that is the incident in late December. It's already cost us our supposed star recruit but it also has the potential to stuff up JG's year.
From what I've seen to date he looks to be coping with any AL related pressures magnificently
PS: I realise there is a female victim in all this so don't use my comments to start going on about that. I'm speaking totally as a Saints supporter. Similarly it is not my intention to turn a Gram thread into a Lovett thread

Equalled by McEvoys palm-down to Armitage. I couldn't split them. Both fantastic pieces of ruck-clearance work !!saint66au wrote:Kings 3rd Qtr palm-down to Grammy and his burst out of the middle was the best clearance I have seen from St Kilda in a very long time. Truly sublime
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
