Gears is almost unrecognisable from last year, unless you see a close-up of his face. He looks like a bit of a tank this year, whereas last year he was looking scrawny. If the extra weight doesn't slow him down, he could really step it up this year.
We have some genuine running depth this year, with Armo, Gears, Eddy, Smith, Peake and Steven all looking like they could step up when required.

Close, 14. Dropped after we beat Geelong. Played against Hawthorn in Round 19 and was dropped again. Wouldn't be too many other players in AFL/VFL history who played in 15 H&A games without a loss but did not play finals. By the way, Jim is at the club often if you are looking for him. I don't think he's scared. Ask Luke for his phone number if you like, they are good friends. We were all surprised that luke didn't take the number 4 jumper when it was offered to him, as 4 is pretty special to us.
