I don't care what colour, previous nationality, size, shape, religion, or star sign they are, I'm very welcoming of people becoming Australian citizens.
But, in my book, when you choose to become an Australian citizen, then that's what you now are: your previous nationality is gone forever.
Otherwise, why have you taken up the citizenship of another country? As a matter of convenience?
Sorry, I don't like my country being treated with such disrespect. I think there are too many new "citizens" in Australia who aren't really committed to the place. I'm not suggesting that they ought to be made to do stupid tests about "who was Don Bradman?", etc. I just think that, as is the case with US citizenship, our citizenship should be something a little difficult to get and of which those who get it should be proud....
