Hayes hoses down injury talk - article

Post: # 877456Post saintlee »

"ST KILDA midfielder Lenny Hayes has shrugged off reports that he has been set back with a foot injury.

A recent newspaper report said Hayes had broken down with a stress fracture in his foot and was in doubt for round one of the home and away season, but the All-Australian midfielder said he was happy with his pre-season.

“I’ve been running since Christmas and I haven’t had any injury setbacks," Hayes said on the club's community camp in Dromana. "Someone said that (I’d broken down) the other day but I’ve been running around so I’m fine."

There's a corresponding article focusing on Rooey - but what I found tantalising was this comment on Tommy Walsh from Ross:
[quote]“We’re pretty keen to give him an opportunity. We know he will crash and bash at 196cm and 102kg. I hope he doesn’t crash into our players but he is exciting and he really is by definition a first-round athlete.

"[The question is] how quickly we can bring him up to speed with Aussie Rules? He’ll get a look in, probably as a substitute player.â€

Surely Lenny cannot be correct for I have been assured that Lenny will miss the pre-season????

Rodgerfox wrote: Do you blame Lyon for the hammy/stress fracture that will cost Lenny a pre-season?
Yep no doubt there. It states will cost!!!!!!!!

Also Roo is doomed after expert anylysis by the same source of a rub-down he received. So he must be delusional as well. Best Roo pre-season in years..tell him he's dreaming.

Must be a cover up by the Saints. Let's storm Linton St and have a few heads roll!!

Of course my source may be wrong

I think Lenny Hayes has a stress fracture. That is what Greg denham said. In other news Jordan McMahan will play with the Saints this year and Fev has quit Brisbane because he is a million to one to go there.

And Aaron Hamill is still 2 weeks away.

Fair dinkum SrR, your lack of footy knowledge is only surpassed by your inability to be funny and or/witty.

Do your really believe what these guys tell the fools during the pre-season when membership is critical?

Do you still believe that roo didn't do his ACL last year in the pre-season - even though now they've admitted they covered it up?

Are you that stupid?

Come on.

Try harder than that.

So Lenny Hayes will miss the pre-season then? You stand by you comment?

Personally I think the media sucked you in bigtime.

?

Grant Thomas from 2002-2005 I believe.

Have no idea who oversees it now. Lyon seemed to come in on day 1 huffing and puffing about what he was going to do about it - but apparently he actually doesn't have anything to do with it and Drain does!!

So frankly, I don't know oversaw it when Hamill's '2 week' injury dragged out for a year.

And don't start lying again SrR. As is your standard.

F*ck me.

Lived under a rock last year did you?

Ever heard of a guy called Giansircusa?? Same injury as Roo, and equally as lucky to be able to play last year.

Really?

That's news to me.

Care to refresh my memory as to when I said he "will miss the pre-season"?????

Considering I've seen him train with my own eyes, seems a strange thing for me to to say.

You wrote that it would cost Lenny his pre-season.

God Rodg thats breathtaking even by your standards

I'm sure someone will come up with the link ..but you ACTUALLY...REALLY..POSITIVELY..said, in regard to Lennys's alleged stress fracture....

..'THAT WILL COST HIM THE PRESEASON"

You said it because you wanted to try and insinuate that RL's training methods might injure players just like your buddy GT. Ditto the "covered up ACL" of Roo.

F*ck me.

You guys never done a pre-season?

A pre-season is a prepared training regime or program over a 3-4-5 month period.

Missing sessions through costs you your program. If you get hurt during the pre-season, or prior you are 'cost your pre-season'.

When a player has surgery and missed the first month of their program, what do they say? "It cost me my pre-season".

Doesn't mean that didn't do a single session and missed the pre-season. It means that it cost them their program.

F*ck me. Every time I post on here, the clues as to who has played footy get clearer and clearer.

No wonder the AFL sit back and laugh at lot as you throw money at them.
