Roo interview this morning on MMM
I was lucky enough to spot this on Facebook just before it started. I listened in on my iPhone radio app which records the sessions, so I have a recording of it. For those who missed out:
Good season last year, guys put disappointment behind them and looking forward to the new season
MMM Asked about GF
NR: Can't remember much, haven't watched it either
MMM Tried to corner him on his injury
NR: Once I was out there I was fine, I had a little niggle, don't want to create excuses, a lot of players were playing with anaesthetic
MMM Asked about losing players eg. Maguire, Ball, Lovett suspended
NR: Nature of football clubs, people come and go, the challenge for a strong club is not let distractions get in the way. McQualter, Blake and Dal Santo have been added to the leadership group for this year. With Matt and Xavier, their careers had stalled at St. Kilda, still great mates with them and very happy to see them get a new opportunity. With Ball, disappointing that he left with a contract on the table
Eddie: "It was taken off the table though, wasn't it?"
NR: "No no, he had a contract, Eddie. Let's make that very very clear, Luke Ball had a contract and didn't want to stay."
Eddie: "First NAB Cup is against Luke Ball."
NR: "It is. I'm not sure how Bally's going, whether he'll play or -"
Eddie: "He's flying mate, he's flying!"
NR: "We might have to send big Tommy Walsh off the line to try and clean him up. We call him Drago at the club because he's built like Ivan Drago from Rocky. So he's going really well, he's just gotta learn to play the game, but physically he's an amazing specimen."
Talked a bit about his parents moving down to Melbourne and setting up shop.
That was about it.

25 minutes to make a name for yourself like you've never made before.

ooTunes. I'm not crazy about it, and there's probably better ones out there now but at the time I got it there weren't many to choose from. Still, the recordings archive is a nice feature.

Stillg great mates with X and Goose.
Didn't say that about Ball.
Now NR has said he walked can we finally put this BS to bed about LB being pushed out of the club
Eddie: "It was taken off the table though, wasn't it?"
NR: "No no, he had a contract, Eddie. Let's make that very very clear, Luke Ball had a contract and didn't want to stay."
Couldn't be any clearer than that. He had a contract but walk out on his mates.
Or is NR a liar as well?

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Blake and McQualter is interesting. Especially McQualter. Really only established himself last year. Must be held in very high regard by the playing group.SainterK wrote:McQualter, Blake and Dal Santo have been added to the leadership group for this year....
Congratulations to the boys, that's great news.
I would love for a journalist to write a book about the inner workings of the saints similar to the Collingwood story written by Peter Ryan last year. Sadly we don't have the publicity the pies get so probably won't happen, but would be interesting to know the players thoughts on a range of topics.

Now that's interesting. Two very different versions of events. Someone is telling Porkies . Would Heddie do something like that !!InkerSaint wrote: NR: With Ball, disappointing that he left with a contract on the table

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Re: Roo interview this morning on MMM
I am sure it was said in jest sRr, but what I find interesting is the consistant line coming from the Saints - Luke Ball had a contract on the table and walked.saintsRrising wrote:Interesting.InkerSaint wrote:

.
We had the players drawing $ signs all over Balls picture up at the GC, we have had Lyon making it clear that Ball wasn't delisted or traded, now we have the captain proclaiming his freind ship for X and Goose, but conspicuous in his silence about any Friendship with Ball.
Makes it clear that Ball walked.
The clean up line was surely said in jest, but where there is smoke......
Lance or James??

That's lucky, 'cause he can't run!InkerSaint wrote: Eddie: "He's flying mate, he's flying!"
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

I've made that incredibly clear in all comments relating to the 'lying' issue.
Rather him smash that Thomas nancy into next season, however we only need bj to do that.saint66au wrote:That's enough to make one moist in the nether regions that is"We might have to send big Tommy Walsh off the line to try and clean him up.
Wasn't that beautiful to see that weak show pony writhing on the ground after bj got him right down the middle.
FANTASTIC.
Why waste a hit on a bloke that will only be on the ground half a game anyway?
