Well, if we play in The Alice, it would be a nice place for Nicky Winmar to debut.

He'd have plenty of fans up North methinks!

ok from that reading if sydney win they will play the game at visy park? Explain that to me, isn't it more important to have a gam in blacktown no matter who the teams or is this pandering to the blues?

btw we so need to win first round ;)

yeah thats what I meant, means that if sydney win first round of the NAB cup they wont play the challenge game in blacktown. Seems a VERY stupid idea IMO, if your going to chuck that amount of money at west sydney why not have games there ASAP

As a Northern Territory Saints member and long time supporter I have to admit to being a bit offended by the title of this thread. On a range of fronts it is important to build the Saints national profile during this time of success. It is clear that only so much of Melbourne is going to be converted and if we want to build the membership and supporter base to that of a top tier club then exposure outside of Vic is critical. I absolutely applaud the national visitation program being arranged by the club this year and opportunities to play in places like Alice (if unfortunately we lose against the Pies), should be seen as just that - an opportunity to build the club for the future. By the way, Traeger Park in Alice continues to be worked on and improved and is probably in better nick than many country Vic town ovals.

Totally agree with you lazy. Sadly the fans who has been crying out for access to the players, arn't supporting this opportunity the way everyone would have thought so it may be the last time it happens. Lets hope the nos pick up next week.

I lived in Alice Springs for 6 months in the mid-90's and it was a HOLE of a place to live in.

A shyte place to live longer term (I reckon a month tops is enough).

Maybe it has changed for the better and it has been cleaned up a bit!

But that's not to say that Alice/The Rock is not worth visiting as a tourist - it's a great area to visit - in a fact a must-do I reckon.

But why should that stop the Saints from attracting supporters from the area?
there should be Saints everywhere- the purpose of the interstate trips is to increase our market share- not to disenfranchise half of them :?

hello to all NT Saints

Lazy: I too am offended by this post. As a long suffering Saints supporter, it would be nice to introduce my five month old daughter to the Saints in our home town. We endeavour to get to a few matches a year, but seeing them at home is the best. BTW, my husband and I are owners in a restaurant here in Alice and I will be contacting the Saints about having a player meet and greet at the restaurant if they are playingup here.
