You are a .LIAR.

I never said Thomas gave us a change at all because he didn't make a Grand Final.

The only way you can win a Flag is to make the Grand Final.

really it is simple.

Anyway stop lying and stop being a hypocrite.
No. The only way to win a flag is to be in front on the scoreboard when the siren goes in the Grand Final.

Are you saying this isn't the case?

did u miss the shaving thread master saint ?

millie , our italian stallion , needed a 'special' chrissy present , for the love of his life

but there were issues regaring cultural 'hair availability and demarcation lines'

think it ended up being a #2 allover , but i'm not real sure :)

Yes, St kilda could also win with a kick after the siren!

That, once more is a lie. St.Kilda had a chance because St.Kilda made the Grand Final.

Really this extremely simple concept has you flummoxed and bewildered hasn't it?
It's a simple concept. But one that if you're consistent about, must take a step further and accept that based on the same logic, you cannot win a flag unless you are in front when the siren goes in the GF.

It's rich that you're own flawed logic is biting you on the arrse.

I guess this is what happens when you go in 'all guns blazing' trying to catch someone out, without really thinking your arguments through.

Wouldn't matter so much if you put forward your views in a pleasant and respectful manner, but when you aggressively use them to burn someone out of vindictiveness, and they turn around and flame you - it's really quite pleasant to watch.

Semantics ping-pong anyone?

It's blindingly obvious that as only one team loses the Grand Final every year, only one team can claim that x-y-z 'cost' them a flag... the others can claim that perhaps x-y-z cost them a Finals berth, Grand Final berth, or at most a chance for a flag.

But we didn't.

So according to Joffaboy's logic, that means we had no chance at all.

Joffaboy appears to be putting forward a theory that prevents any form use of the terms 'if' and 'could' when talking about the past.

We didn't make a GF, so we never had a chance of winning the flag.

We didn't win last year with a kick after the siren, therefore we never had a chance of winning the flag.

If you look at things in black and white, it may be a good logic. But in the footy world, it just doesn't work.

Gee, I've spoken to plenty of Dog's fans who are pretty adamant that certain things in the Prelim cost them a flag.

Plenty of North fans in 97 reckon that McKernan's injury cost them a flag.

Plenty of Essendon fans who are equally as certain that losing the prelim to Carlton in 99 cost them a flag.....and so on and so on.

GT was the greatest coach ever who was just unlucky because injuries stopped him from getting us to a GF where we then would have had a shot at winning a flag.

Allan Jeans was just lucky because Cowboy kicked straight, and his "kick it to Baldock (who was really our quasi Capt Coach) paid off.

Killigrew didn't have the benefit of low and priority draft picks, so he was unlucky.

Ross Lyon is lucky because he inherited a top 4 list who can coach themselves, but his luck ran out on GF day because technically, he didn't help get a shot at winning the flag because... erm... we lost.

Brilliant! :D

That should settle the argument forever.

Given that in your opinion, footy fans are moronic and ignorant, then in your logic, their opinions do not count.

Of course they are.

Joffaboy's argument seems to be that unless you make the GF you were never a chance of winning a flag.

Technically correct.

What is also technically correct using that same 'black or white' logic, is that if you are not in front on the scoreboard milli-seconds to the siren sounding, you also were never a chance of winning the flag.

Yup... in this round of pedantic-semantic-ping-pong, rodge is wrong.
