Roo's Fitness

Post: # 871444Post rodgerfox »

Went for a run the other day when I'd finished at the gym, and stumbled across the Saints boys doing time trials.

Looked pretty fit as a group - but I couldn't help but notice that Roo wasn't partaking.

Was getting some massage done.

Concern?

Players getting massages would be pretty standard I would have thought and hardly cause for fear.

Great news!

He was so far ahead of the rest that he was already getting a rub down.

The last thing we need is our pseudo Capt-Coach injured.

I'm worried that our luck has run out.

See, I can have fun too.

Well, FWIW I know people who are reasonably close to Roo and he certainly isn't 100% but he reckons he's OK at this stage to start the season.

So it's understandable that he isn't participating in full-on training, but nothing to be bothered about: same situation as heaps of other AFL player have been/are in during the off-season.

OMG!!!!!!!!

It must be contagious.....

The entire playing group left the training track yesterday by noon and so no one was partaking in training.......................

We must be doomed!!!!!!!!

So much for 2010.

i think it's a good thing. from the outside, riewoldt reminds me of a robert harvey type... in that he would train and run himself into the ground if they let him. i think it's good to hold him back. its a long season ahead and im sure he's the type that has a great base fitness.

Those who mock the importance of a full pre-season are either...

Ignorant.
In denial.
Wearing very expensive rose-coloured glasses.
Or all of the above.

Don't be concerned RF, he started off slowly in 2009 yet managed to make AA captain. He will be fine, he will probably give himself no other option.

Let's just say Tassie contacts. Nick still seems to be a Tassie boy at heart: he seems to pop up here quite frequently during the off-season.

From what I saw, it seemed that he hadn't done anything at all.

That is my point. Hence me asking the question as to whether or not this of concern.

Just a quick question RF. Where were the time trials?
