A couple of things.

I only just realised - if you subtract a simple 1 from Nicholas Winmar's number, you will have a Nicky.

Coincidence?

Also - thank god #35 has not been filled, because I would hope by the time it is, we are a multiple Premiership Club and the Great Man is back with us.

Appreciate it.

By the way it is -20C today. Enjoy yourself and go swimming....

Did you have someone else in mind for that number? Or maybe think he wasnt deserving of it? I think its great for him, may take him to a higher level of confidence. Cant wait to see him in it. Be good to see the number 4 in and under wrestling for the ball again ala Thommo.

Pity we could not have afforded one additional rookie, and picked up Charlie McAdam, Gilbert's son. Would have been good to have seen a Winmar and a McAdam running down the field together with the ball again.

-20C does not compute here. It was 39C on Thursday and I did go swimming.

Changed numbers are:
Jack Steven now 3, was 34;
Clint Jones now 4, was 38;
Zac Dawson now 6, was 43;
Jarryn Geary 14, was 42.

New players are:
Andrew Lovett 9;
Nicholas Winmar 17 (was Colm Begley);
Brett Peake 30 (was Brad Howard);
Jesse Smith 31 (was Matt Maguire);
Adam Patisson 34 (was Jack Steven);
Tommy Walsh 36 (was Jarryd Allen);
Leigh Fisher now 37, was 6;
Jarryd Allen now 50, was 36 (will not play, only listed for contractual reasons);
Will Johnson 38 (was Clint Jones);
Daniel Archer 42 (was Jarryn Geary);
Mark Hutchings 43 (was Zac Dawson).

Enjoy the white Christmas.

I also liked Jones in 38.

However, I would assume that in acccepting number 4, it obviously means something to him to be rewarded with a lower number by the club.

Good on him, he deserves to feel the love.

I like the fact Cuz Mark II (ie Winmar!) has been given a relatively low number (17).

Does this indicate the club thinks he may be a likely player, and ahead of a few of the other seconds?

17 will always be famous for me for the guy that could take marks standing on peoples heads even if he was blind folded, but couldnt kick a goal 20m out if his life depended on it.

Hi Bernard,

thanks very much for that.

It was exactly what I was looking for.

It warmed up a bit yesterday - it was -2C and sunny. As I was walking to work in the car park one of my co-workers looked around, smiled and said "Summer!".

Thanks also to Bratty for her private email. You are a legend girl!

I'll just be happy to see the kid make it regardless of what number he's wearing - even if it's 77 :D
