Pattison 30.

And dont be surprised if Walsh doesnt get 4. The Pres is excited about him already for one.

Zac Dawson 6 (Bob Murray)
Armo 14
Dal Santo 3
Clint Jones 4

I agree with Bev, new players should earn their low numbers.

I agree with a couple of posters that Steven should be given 3 and the resposibility & faith that comes with it.

#4 I would give to Walsh, forget the pressure, he has enough hype already & if the judges are correct he won't have any problems wearing it with distinction.

#14 goes to Jesse Smith, a reminder to the previous occupant that we've moved on & quickly. Now it's on the back of a player who also tackles, kicks long & accurately and has pace (all providing he's on the park to display all those traits  ) OR let CJ wear it!!!

#6 I would give to Lynch

#8 to Peake (I like the idea of Zach keeping his number, a reminder of where he's come from and what he's achieved with us in a short time)

#17 to our new Nicky Winmar (not quite the original 7 but very close)

The only number I would give out for sure is 7 to Nick Winmar and ask Lenny to take 35.

I like everyone's optimism but giving some of these low numbers to guys who have been on the list for a few years and done nothing as a reward is a bit of a joke. I hope Armo blitzes next year but after 2/3 years of a handfull of games and many people here saying he should go to Gold Coast it seems strange that some are alluding to him deserving 4 or 3 or whatever.
Clint Jones deserves and has earnt a low number and if Armo or Jack had been given 3 or 4 when they first walked in fine but unfortunately they haven't yet "earnt" those numbers.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tom Lynch in no. 4.

I can't believe some of these posts

You want to give numbers of historical importance to guys who have not even played a game.

On the other hand Jones to 4 has a nice symmetry.

Numbers with historical importance should be passed on recognising the talent that is going to wear it.

Remember 23.

i seem to recall this was the number he wore in the NT before he got drafted. He wanted 8 when he came to the club but obviously Max already had it. GT suggested 16 as being 8 + 8. So looks like Raph still has eyes for the #8.

Personally I would have preferred Zac got 8 - but given he had 43 last year - maybe drop the first digit and leave him with the #3. Using the same logic, give Jack Steven the #4.

Nick Winmar in 14 has some nice symmetry ( 7 +7) but other than that, I'd prefer to see the numbers 16 17 given to Jesse Smith & Tommy Walsh both of whom I think will be on the list for at least the next 5 years

Didn't they want to give Grant Thomas 666? The number of the beast. Or maybe it was 668-the neighbour of the beast.

Are you inferring that Raph will only be half the player next year, P66?

Its fairly uncommon to spend 6 seasons in one number and then change.

I thought 16 was a good number anyways!

3 - Steven
4 - Geary
6 - Lynch
8 - Clarke
9 - Lovett
16 - McQaulter? Maybe give Mini 35!

Cant be far off actual numbers being allocated. I know it will be after the Rookie Draft. Anyone know exactly when it is done?

He wanted #8 when he was first drafted as he said it was always "his number" (he took #16 as a compromise) but obviously Max wouldnt give it away but he did promise when he retired Raph could have his #8
