I'd never thought about that...but the go home factor may come into play. He still has lots of mates up there...i remember him joking about them all coming down a week early when he played his 200th this year. They had booked cheap flights, but ended up here a week early because he missed the first game of the year, putting his 200th a week later than they thought. He seems like such a Saints man, but then again, so did Luke Ball, so I suppose you never know. I would hate to lose Lenny. Maybe we will win one and he will retire a happy man having been a one club champion. Hope so. Can't see him being Harvey-like and playing for 6 or 7 years like he joked. Another two or three may see him out if we win one. Ross loves him and has said so, so hopefully he will be allowed to make his own decision when the time comes.
completely different to ball IMO, older, most established and is a champion of the club. Along with roo he will be a one club man.saintnick12 wrote:Really?plugger66 wrote:I still have a strong feeling that he may go back to Sydney to Captain the new side especially if we have either won a flag or are going down hill.

Not saying I thought he was anything like Ball. More that I thought Ball was a Saints man through and through and think the same about Lenny. We were proved wrong about Ball, so I would be less confident in future about any players total 100% commitment. Things change, personalities change. Coaches and other players change. I guess we never know.
Agreed, Lenny is a champion of the club, but Ball was too.
Lets hope he goes out of his own choice as a Saints premiership player.

Isn't that Mark McVeigh? Think they were drafted a the same time.saintsRrising wrote:Lenny has staed a number of times that when his career at the Saints finishes that he an another AFL player have a pact to go back to their original club in Sydney and play together.

Lenny & Mark McVeigh were both recruited from Pennant Hills in Sydney's North West, so I'd think that is the original club that Lenny was talking about.saintsRrising wrote:Lenny has staed a number of times that when his career at the Saints finishes that he an another AFL player have a pact to go back to their original club in Sydney and play together.
There were reports (and possibly pics) of Lenny at McVeigh's wedding a few weeks ago !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Hope he is a one man club but I just get the feeling he may go back to play. He will definately go back the minute his career finishes but if we happened to win a flag just got the feeling he may go back and help out the new side.Solar wrote:completely different to ball IMO, older, most established and is a champion of the club.
