Ok I dont mean completely for name.bigred wrote:For some reason I dont think Ross would settle for that kind of shyte eh...Haha, hope we took him on talent rather than name...
But say we wanted him at 60, didnt rate him at 32 but didnt think he'd last to 60 and took him at 32 cos of his name,
I dont think thats gonna make sense, but I think you know what I mean?

http://www.afldraftinfo.com/2009/10/nic ... draft.htmlHe is worth a late 2nd round to mid 3rd round pick IMO (but seems like he is rated as a later prospect?).

Looks plenty to work with.
I note the write up lists his weakness as engine/work rate - both things IMHO that CAN be improved at an AFL club if the attitude is right.
What I like most is his ball use by foot and hand is excellent - IMHO its harder to improve a shyte kick than someone who needs to learn endurance and Im glad we look to have taken the skills route over the "athlete" approach.

Read on the HS website that he placed second in the kicking test at teh draft camp so obviously no slouch. It will be awesome seeing another Winmar bursting the lines in a Saints jumper

We'll have plenty to work with, as he has speed, is strong overhead and looks to be a brilliant kick. I think it's pretty safe to say he won't be playing any time soon though, if this year is any indication (unless we have lots of injuries/suspensions or the like). May be a couple of years away with a body like that.
YOU GET WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.

Great to have the Winmar name back
Welcome to the Saints Nic.
Take it one step at a time and be confident that the club will support you in your transition to the big time. I was very saddened to see Nicky 'Elvis' retire but inspired to once again see the Winmar name at St. Kilda.
GOD LUCK.

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
