Kennelly, who spoke to both local and national radio stating earlier in the week that he hadn't made up his mind, came to a swift decision yesterday and turned his back on playing with Kerry having achieved his ambition to win an All-Ireland medal at his very first attempt.
It is unclear where he is going, but it is almost certainly back to Sydney Swans to resume his role as player and coach, though St Kilda's also are believed to have made him a sizeable offer.
