Ross knew it GO U SAINTERS getting rid of dead wood... Who cares how high he was taken was rubbish played about 3 decent games.
Bit rough don't you think? You could have phrased it a little better.
Personally, I am sad to see him go personality and quality of character wise. Football wise, I am not that unhappy. He is injury prone, that is a fact that cannot be debated no matter how cruel or harsh it seems. Would love to have seen him fulfill his potential. Unfortunately, it won't be with us (if at all). Good luck X man! Wish you all the best.

Ball and X wanted out
how is that Lyon cleaning the joint out!!!
X had a contract - didn't have to trade him.
Understand that but he wants out............what would you then...............
move on the player that's not committed.
thats interesting chook.
I haven't heard if he wanted out (obvious he did I suppose). Brisbane approached the Saints about him and the Saints didn't stand in the way.
I am sure he was offered more than a one year contract from Brisbane and coming off a bad knee - I certainly dont blame him.
However if the Saints wanted to keep him they could have.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)
I remember quite clearly when X was up and about. Fast, accurate and able to leap tall backmen in a single bound! Very, very exciting player when he was firing.
He almost made his way back this season but was culled by another collision injury in the VFL if I’m not mistaken?? That’s just plain unfortunate!
Whatever Ross Lyon is doing its fine by my books. In the space of a few years he’s created an amazing culture that is backed by actions, not words! I’m very excited about the 2010 season! I think it’ll outshine the one we’ve just seen, and that’s a big call!
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Exactly....
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
The return of keeping Xavier far outweighs any trade we will get for him...
He was a brilliant player - just affected by injury.
Some people seem to forget how good players were once they have been injured for a while....Xavier was a talented player that couldn't string a season together.

!
Yes he was. He should have been a regular in our team.
Crueled ...utterly crueled by injuries. Really depressing how that happens to some players.
I am also very disappointed in our trading this year. So far we have lost two of my favourites, Luke Ball and Xavier Clarke, our 1st and 3rd round picks, gained an older player in Lovett, and a so so player in Peake, and two low draft picks. I was happy enough to get Lovett, but since then it has been all down hill as far as I am concerned.

We had no choice with both X and Ball who have decided to jump ship. Lovett is only 27, hardly old, and only been in the system for 5 years so his body isn't battered. Peake is an unknown quantity, I'll reserve my judgement until I see him play.
The draft is shallow this year so pick 16 for Lovett is around 24 in a normal year and 48 would be like 60 so we haven't lost too much. And both players address our fundamental weakness which is leg speed.
I would have been more upset if we discarded Ball and X but if they want to leave then BYE BYE
Unfortunately, injury has stuffed up many a promising player. Time moves on, and LB and XC have never reached their potential and there is too much competition for middle size players in the club now. Good luck to them in their new clubs.
