I don't really believe in giving draftees low numbers, think they should earn them.
ROBERT HARVEY A.K.A The Great Man, Banger, Harves, Ol' Man River...
384 games, 4 B&F's, 3 EJ Whitten Medals, St.Kilda Captain, 2 Time Brownlow Medalist, 8 Time All Australian, 2nd Highest Brownlow votes poller.... The greatest of ALL TIME!!
Surely it'll be a bit stretched from Frase wearing it?
So that leaves 4, 6 (soon), 8, 14 (maybe) free. Who should get them?
Here is who i think will get those numbers:
4 - Jack Steven
6 - Eddy
8 - Zac Dawson
14 - Luke Ball (Will Stay) If not....Geary or Jones.
Not sure weather armo gets a well known lower number or weather he makes 20 his own.

There seems to be plenty of mutual respect. Lovett has rejected more money to join other clubs and now the club is handing him a number previously worn by an old favourite.
This is huge opportunity for Mr Lovett to win back respect as a professional footballer.
Now all he needs to do is put in the hard yards and prove himself.
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

I'd like to see a centreline of Lovett-Montagna-Gram.
Try catching that!
We have never been as slow as we've been made out to be but with Lovett replacing Ball we are one of the quicker teams going around

So in a roundabout manner you've answered my question as to who he replaces in our team - Ball.
So where does that leave Armitage who obviously would have been looking to take that spot?

Well the obvious answer would be Robert Eddy/ Sean Dempster's spot however for one reason or another RL rates those two over Armo... A big pre-season could change that though...

Yes, it's difficult to say until we see how players progress in fitness and body shape over the pre-season, but if Ball is gone, I would think -
in : Lovett, Armitage, Geary
out : Eddy, Ball, Dempster
from the best 22.
But then if we still have X...I would still see him in the best 22 if he came back 100%
If Misson continues his great work, we are in one hell of a good position.
Maybe my dream of 3 Premierships in a row is about to come to fruition.
With what players we currently have in our 22 and what we have coming up, I believe that our premiership window has just been smashed open and the wall taken out with it.......

Yup, they would be my three changes as well...
Personally I think the X-Man might be finished, wouldn't mind seeing Anrejs Everitt knocking down the door as well... not to mention Lynch, Heyne and Steven...

I'd like to see them all playing a minimum 6 games each next year (Steven maybe more), but if we have another freakish run with injury, they may not get the chance.
Can't see our form dropping off to the point of having to play them.
And probably quite a few games out of Big Mac in 2010.
