Anyone Else Excited By Stanley?
I reckon he is a real prospect. Tall bloke who won the grand final sprint. Got to have an exciting future for the club...

I'm excited by his pace, especially on the wet track. You might need to replace Kingy with Stanley as your new avatar, SWSaintWodonga wrote:I reckon he is a real prospect. Tall bloke who won the grand final sprint. Got to have an exciting future for the club...

imo he shouldn't be pigeon-holed as ruck only, because that will limit the chances of us getting games into a very good prospect.chook23 wrote:how many have really seen him play
i've seen enough to know he's a lot more than a tall guy who can run fast.
can mark, kick and rack up plenty of possessions.

Needs to work on his pace and has to grow a bit.
Lance or James??

Once again borderbarry comments from Wodonga on Sandy players.borderbarry wrote:I would play him in front of McEvoy at the moment.
I've seen plenty of Sandy this year and there is no way Stanley is ahead of Big Mac.
Stanley will be a player and not just a ruckman, but is probably 18 months away.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

I realise a highlights video could make Shaun McManus look a half-decent player but from the youtube vids I've seen Stanley looks very good.
He has a bit of Kurt Tippett about him in the way he moves. Similar body-shape and, coming from a basketball background like Tippett, a strong leap. Tippett obviously ain't got pace like this kid though.
Long, long way to go but he could be absolutely anything.

that would present a match up problem to our opponents. anyone else got a 200cm winger who wins grand final sprints?samoht wrote:Once he has the endurance he could play in a number of positions almost immediately - on the wing you don't need a solid body.

Tippett will be a star,so dont want to put to much pressure on Rhys.... but he'll be better than BroganEastern wrote:I think I read or heard somewhere that Rhys has a basketball background. Do we expect him to turn out like Kurt Tippett? Dean Brogan? or the best of both? !!
