Sydney, Collingwood and St Kilda

Post: # 841981Post BaysideSaint »

There are three (3) clubs that have had talks with Carlton:

Sydney, Collingwood and St Kilda

Fevola does not want to play in Sydney.
Collingwood do not have what Carlton want.
St Kilda are believed to have offered Ball.

dont get too far ahead of yourself. IF Ball is destined to be at Collingwood they have the bartering power for Fev with Luke as an on trade.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

I'd prefer Lovett before Fev. Really want to inject some pace

I think I'm missing the point here, why would Carlton entertain Collingwood at all if they would take Ball? Wouldn't both St Kilda and Carlton just leave Collingwood out in the cold?

Can't see Carlton taking Ball, not after picking up McLean.

I can see a very confusing multi club trade situation brewing...hopefully when the dust settles we're way out in front.

id doubt Ball would be wrapt to nominate Pies so he can be on traded....

Carlton would actually suit Ball and they could use a quality insidd mid to help Judd as Murphy and Co are receivers.

Hmm question is: is Fevola really a need for us?

lets not forget....Balls 600k contract going frees up some room with the Blues chipping in.....interesting thought.

just what i have heard.
RL is a very funky individual.

fevola has been very firm on not wanting to go north.
collingwood simply dont have any power.
the question was always whether or not the saints were prepared to offer a name and, as is the case, have been.

no on-trading. collingwood simply cant offer anything to anyone.
ball and judd the mass of a newly re-worked blues midfield.

dont expect a deal until at least thursday.

The only way a 3 way deal will work here is if Saints trade Ball to Collingwood for their second round pick and a player, maybe Goldsack. Saints on trade Goldsack and second pick plus first round pick to Carlton for Fev

Hmmm, Ball steps out of Judd's shadow and is... sucked into Judd's black hole.

its just what Judd needs though...

Someone to get the hard ball for him.

check stats for league hard ball gets and you will see Chris Judd at the top or very near it every year. Hes a jet cause he WINS his own footy and can break away from stopagges with devastating speed.

Hes what we shouldve picked up years ago.....

Lets see how accurate the OP is come Thursday..

I can't see a straight swap for Ball and Fevola, nor can I see how Collingwood brings anything to the table.

A three way with another player might work....depends on the value each club places on the players.

Fevola to St Kilda
Ball to Collingwood
Nathan Brown & Leon Davis to Carlton?
some swappage of later picks

All just speculation.

that's because no one else in their mid can do the same....

Working further outside, he can be EVEN more damaging with his pace.

Hence why they could use another inside mid... o.O

At WCE he had more help in this area, at Carlton, not so much.
