2010 FIXture leak !!
The pssssst colum in the Sunday AGE by Bruce Eva (mad saints fan) today suggests that he heard from Geelong that there WILL NOT be a replay of the Grand Final in Rd 1, 2010. The article went on to suggest that the saints will play the cats 1 time in 2010 and that will be some time in the middle of the season. There will be more leaks filtering out over the next 2-3 weeks before the official FIXture comes out towards the end of October !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
INSANITY
the concept of doing something over and over while expecting a different outcome....
you idiots AFL if this is true they need to play each other twice. In fact I would be confident that the top 4 will stay almost the same for most of next season and thus playing the saints, cats, dogs and pies twice each would be a boom both on the field and off.....

And even with all that assistance Collingwood still can't cut it....Ghost Like wrote:As long as Collingwood play 17 times at the G and have to 'travel' 5 times to Etihad I don't think the AFL see anything wrong with the fixture.
Collingwood as a club are good at so many different aspects of the game,
except playing successful football......1 flag in over 50 years, not good from a club that brags so often.....
Will we pick up a player in the SSP window

im guessing they are doing this so by the time we play around about rd 10 we are both undefeated and the afl racks in the cash.
or do they just not want the GF replays to be rd 1 any more?
im sure there is a reason behind it all and chances are it involves money.

Don't mind not playing in round one...as for playing them twice...happy to beat them once and then beat them in a prelim or the big one.
Whoever we play instead of Geelong the second time means a slightly easier draw.

AND their supporters think they are special when the reality is only Fremantle and the Doggies haven't won a premiership in that time.
AND they are no better than St Kilda in that time.

It used to be called a Draw because the fixture was drawn from a barrell.
Now it is just a fiddle.

I'm no Cat sympathiser but I believe the reigning premier should be able to unfurl their pennant at their home ground at the start of the season.
From memory Geelong didn't get to do that until round 3 or 4 in 2008.
Due to their ground size, round 1 for them should be at Skilled against a low drawing crowd.

Their ground should be renamed because its' capacity only equates to half a stadium.Iceman234 wrote:I'm no Cat sympathiser but I believe the reigning premier should be able to unfurl their pennant at their home ground at the start of the season.

Re: 2010 FIXture leak !!
Good! If both teams again start the season well, the hype will again gather plenty of steam. I've found the Round 1 GF rematches somewhat anti-climatic the last two years!Eastern wrote:The pssssst colum in the Sunday AGE by Bruce Eva (mad saints fan) today suggests that he heard from Geelong that there WILL NOT be a replay of the Grand Final in Rd 1, 2010.
