Sen Radio overnight Nathan Brown Medical with saints
early this morning on SEN radio i heard someone say That Nathan brown of richmond had a medical at st kilda

Interesting if true. Bottom line is that we are looking like being one forward short - that's the position that Eddy/Geary/Dempster/Armo/Gwilt have been grappling for all year. With none of them able to look like they could grasp the opportunity.
Seems then like the options are.....
Lynch - maybe another year or two away
Young gun from another club - e.g. Gamble - but likely we would have to give something up that we would rather not e.g. picks/players
Near to the end former star - for very little in terms of salary or picks.
-------------------
Looking at Lyon's record the latter seems most likely...... options out there?
- Nathan Brown
- Russell Robertson
-------------------
Both would be available cheaply and MIGHT be able to fill the void for the next season or two. Little to be lost on either if they don't work out.
Even longer shot..... Tommy Walsh from Ireland....

I just hope that we dont fall in the trap carlton fell into after their 99 GF appearence by constantly topping up the list and forgetting about the youth...
Lets not forget that our list is more than adequate, it was our finishing that cost us severely, we must develop from within...
Lynch is an exciting prospect IMO and does the kid's confidence no good by getting the likes of Peake, Brown etc... We need to give the kids a chance to shine, its amazing what a bit of responsibility can do to someone!

I am excited to stay at St Kilda and this is a great result for the Club and all our fans. I’m proud to be part of the Saints and am pleased to be playing football with the Clubâ€

There has been little or no comment on Nick Heyne. Plays a similar (medium forward) role to Lynch and may be a little ahead in terms of development. Has kicked 5 goals in a vfl game and was an emergency for one game this year !!Richter wrote:Interesting if true. The player in your avatar would make an excellent "Hamill" type forward with Armitage playing in the midfieldRichter wrote:Interesting if true. Good mate of Roo's and my wife saw him after the grandfinal outside the G and said he looked devasted. As mentioned a one year contract could be the go.
Stilla class finisher and may be better next year after that horrific leg break.
