Dawson - Zac is awesome. Promoted.
Gaertner - Gets another year on the rookie list. Was always going to be a bit of a project.
Haretuku - Probably finished here. Only chance would be redrafting him in the rookie draft. Seems unlikely.
Howard - Play says 'go', contract says 'stay'. I think he'll get one last chance.
McGarry - Spent a lot of the year in the Sandy reserves, but looked good there. Has some ability. Stays.
McGrath - Needs more time. Stays.
Miles - Won't be on rookie list next year. Will he stay or will he go? I'd keep him. plugger66 wouldn't. plugger66 is right more often than I am.
Simpkin - Definitely has some ability. Stays.
Tungatalum - Needs more time.

Yeah nah pleasing positive

Well a statement released by the AFL a few days ago could make a lot of decisions a lot easier...

They have put forward a proposal to all 16 clubs that suggests changes to the rookie list rules. If passed, the rules would start this year;

The AFL will consider extending until the end of the 2012 season the current rule allowing clubs to select an additional two rookies.

The second proposal is that clubs be allowed to select up to two mature-age rookies until the end of the 2012 season.

Finally, it is also proposed that clubs be able to retain a rookie list player for a third season without having to enter the draft, subject to the player being given the option to nominate for the draft.

This means is that the likes of Haretuku and Miles will be able to stay on the rookie list one more year if they want to. Personally, i think Haretuku is gone regardless, but it could prove a saviour to Miles's career.

Dawson - Promoted
Gaertner - Another year
Haretuku - Delisted
Howard - Delisted
McGarry - Another year
McGrath - Another year
Miles - Promoted
Simpkin - Another year
Tungatalum - Hopefully another year.

Also add
Duncan
Widmer
Walsh
Moran

That leaves us with one open slot for drafting a rookie (sadly Irish rookies do go on the rookie list and not the supplementary international rookie list)

+1

Although, under the newly proposed rules (posted above), Miles could potentially spend one more year on the rookie list... Wouldnt disagree with having him promoted though - done enough not to be delisted!

Haretuku is also eligible for another year. Not sure if he has earned it, but big men do take longer to develop.

Haretuku and Howard ....time to move them on...just not showing enough

Howard was a 4th rounder at best , drafted as a 2nd rounder.......oops

The list changes for 2025 have begun, always an interesting time for an avid supporter.
