Post: # 835263Post JABBER »

Back in 1997 stan Alves said we would be back the next year(1998) but we didnt make it We must play it low key next year like Geelong this year I want the players to do it for themselves and not for the fans(us) We the fans
would love to see the side play there best footy without the pressure put on players by our fans and let RL and selectors pick the team and not suporters

go saints for 2010

Does Ross know we've been selecting the team this year?

The coach, the players, the supporters and the media all thought that we still had time. Maybe we did, maybe we didn't, but we were taught a valuable football lesson regardless. Nothing is a given in football, you have to earn your right, each and every year! Unfortunately, I don't believe we had quite learnt our lesson before and post the '05 prelim.

Everyone will expect us to be rebound and we wont be under the radar like the start of the season just passed.

IF the window is still open, the club as a whole knows nothing but sheer determination and gut-busting work is ahead and NOW, more than ever, they needs us!

CARN YOU F**KING SAINTERS!

Board, administration, playing group, coaching staff all stable and working towards one goal at present. Not so in '97.
Whole different kettle of fish.

It was interesting to read that Alves felt that if he had his time over again he would have exposed the players to more of the post siren pain as opposed to congratulating them on their efforts and talking up next year.
Stan felt if he had allowed them to wallow more in the pain they might have found more motivation to rectify things in 98.

Whilst perhaps there was a little too much love in the air thisafternoon at Jihad, I think they certainly experienced pain yesterday.

Hopefully, unlike 98, we will be able to use that pain to finally bring it home.
