Pretty dissapointing effort

Post: # 834591Post Dan Warna »

BY SOME OF YOU.

great effort by the team that fell short marginally.

finger pointing and navel gazing isn't helping anyone.

certainly saying this player or that player had a s*** game is pretty obvious, I dont think stevie johnson is getting dropped because of 1 s*** game.

we failed, the coach will make some hard decisions, but NO ONE is hurting more than the players.

go back and look at the game again, even the players who were beaten put in again and again and again.

didn't see 1 saint squib a contest, pull out, pull short, stop.

sure they made bad decisions, but then so did the cats.

we lost, but dont be ass hole about it to the brave 22 out there yesterday.

Yeah I agree. Several players missed amazingly easy shots, but there's no point singling out individuals now.

exactly

I'm quite sure that if the cats had lost that their supporters woiuld not be on about Johnson or Varcoe or Kelly or any other potential scapegoat.

Why do some have to become cannibals.

Exactly, as far as I'm concerned everyone of the 22 who played yesterday is a required player as everyone of those 22 will bust their gut and answer Ross Lyon's call to finish the business.

Well said Dan, spot on. We lost, but not because of lack of effort or heart.

Wholeheartedly agree. Five minutes of footy at the beginning of the first quarter, five minutes of footy in the last quarter, and dare I say it, a putrid goal umpiring decision that 3 field umpires and two boundary umpires could not over rule. cost us the flag. We would have been 1 point down instead of 6 with minutes to go and also we would have had the kick out after Hawkins' point to set up an attack instead of a ball up in the middle.

I think we will see this as the dust settles but finger pointing at this point of time is futile.

As a friend said to me, take a deep breath.....and then take another one...and if you keep doing that you will live.

Bloody brilliant post Dan. Cannot understand the need to bad mouth, take anonymous pot shots at any of the 22 that were out there yesterday. They were all courageous and served us with distinction. I know they'll hurt for a long time over this as we all will and I know none of them will turn on each other as some of their 'supporters' are turning on them.

No one should question the effort put in by this team either yesterday or all season. It was fantastic and we should be very proud of how well they played in a GF. Unfortunatley there is an element of luck in all sport and it wasn't with us yesterday. Agree totally with the original post.

+1

the exact same team would have won a flag against other premiership sides, or even against this side in better weather or with a little more luck.

Yes, 100% commitment by every player, even though some did better than others
