In all the media hype about selections, the unbelievable year of Zac Dawson seems to have been pushed in to the background.

He has come from nowhere and been the most important part of the most frugal defence in AFL/VFL history. I say that because we now play on near perfect surfaces in this era. No muddy or even rainy grounds to play on and our defence has been outstanding.

It takes a mighty defender to keep a player like Max out of the side and I'm sure he would have mixed feelings about that. However, he has earned his spot so we need to get behind him tomorrow.

Hope he doesn't take in any baggage from the Max factor because he has earned the right for his spot. I love Max but Zac is our best man for the job.

I couldn't believe when we picked him up. I called in SEN to complain after his first NAB Cup game.

Sat next to Zac's godfather during the C*llingw**d final. Good bloke. He gave up his life long support for the Hawkers to support us this season and the entirety of Zac's career at St.Kilda.

People say Zac has had it easy in the best back line in modern history. I say Zac made it just as easy for the rest of the back line as they did for him. You don't find passengers in the best back line ever.
