i actually think the wet weather will favour us. yes, i agree that the likes of bartel and selwood love the wet, but part of the reason for us beating them in round 14 was our tough, physical attack on the ball and the man with the ball.

johnson would have to be suspect with his hip and there are a few others that are carrying injuries from the cats.

we've got some good wet trackers in hayes, ball and baker.

and rooey will be just as effective in the wet, its just his goals will count for more.

bring it on i say

We should feel the brunt of the change in the next 24 hours. Adelaide has had continual thunderstorms, and strong wins, and 25mm since 9am this morning. The open training session tomorrow could be a very wet affair biut perfect preparation for Saturday.

Not too much to worry about...it's not as if Geelong are playing with umbrellas...they have to put up with the conditions too. Just telling you guys to bring a raincoat!

Wet weather is a great equaller, probably suits us better as risky running gameplay is harder to pull off than pressure contested ball footy in the wet.

I don't think we should worry too much about the weather, will be the same for both sides, and I think each has their strengths in the wet.

All it will most likely mean is a close game, and a tight tackling heavy game, which is fine with me.

I like our lead in last week, a tough one against the bullies as opposed to those Collingwood witches hats Geelong had.

Time to make it real this week!

Yep but it would suck if they won [with Bartel Selwood killing us] and then it would be 'what if..'

But, it is what it is... and you are right, that it suits us too in some ways.

Apart from a less pleasant day for the spectators have been trying to work out who this favour more...

One argument is that the cats are more used to these conditions and seem to handle them better..the other is that it may assist our forward pressure and keep it a more low scoring contest which could ultimately work in our favour..

A five day forecast is very much guess work and by Friday night we could be looking at a mostly dry day ...anything is still possible!!

I would think us...

However Cats have a slight mass advantage...ie bigger bodies and will have probably played more in the rain.

However I would believe that overall that we are fitter...and in hard game in the wet that we could finish better due to superior stamina.

While the Cats have got all their good players back into the team...many of them have had quite interrupted seasons.

ie Ottens is still below his best..

SJ looked good against the Pies, but his fitness would have to be below what it could be. Ditto for Chapman.

A real hard grinding game exacerbated by wet weather could well give us the edge late in the game.

Bartel.....Selwood.....Ablett ...Chapman....Corey

I think the wet weather will have a lesser impact on Cats......

your points taken re Cats have played in those conditions more......

will fitness( a couple of players) bridge the gap............

???

Another classic example of optimism from the big bad chook. Fair dinkum. Most depressing Saint in the history of time.

Why?

Well known fact the players I mentioned are mudlarks

Yes we have some Hayes...Ball

I hope we overcome it.

Because it is not OMG OMG wet my pants saint posts .....I am depressing

I was commenting on a question/opinion in thread ......d.....d

bridge the gap comment was in relation they had more mudlarks not who would win the game..........but you put your crap spin on it. Read what is there rather than seeing it the way you want to.
