Brad Johnson you star!

Post: # 824551Post thejiggingsaint »

I've just heard the replay of Johnno's post-match interview, and I have to say that the guy is an absolute GUN in my eyes. No sooking about umpires, or any other nonsense like that, just plain honest talking and acceptance that a desperately close game was won by the better team on the night...and we were! NEVER forget it!
To show true sportsmanship in defeat proved to this old codger just how mentally tough this champ is!

He was the one that fired them up in the last qtr when he got the better of Gilbert.
A super talented player why bears far more responsibilty than he should.
And tough too - copped a really heavy knock against Brisbane but bounced up and still played well.

Impossible to dislike him.

Johnson himself made reference to the fact that "the Saints had been the best side in the comp all year" during his remarks, and I believe that a lot of folks should be made to listen to the complete interview on 774 when they feel hard done by to see how REAL tough men cope with adversity.

I believe, by the way that we have similar characters in our side!!!!!!!
Lenny hayes and "Snowy" Riewoldt were most sporting in their post-match grabs in giving credit to the Doggies.

saw the game momentarily lost when he did that very clever tap to his advantage to kick a goal - only to have gilbo brilliantly get his hand to the ball and tap it through!

I've always loved him as my favourite non-Sainter and wished he played for us
The bloke sitting next to me in the members Fri night....(D supporter no less )
kept really bagging Johnno every time he went near the footy, "you watch he always goes to ground the stager" he kept adding

In the last quarter when I was getting a little edgey "cos it looked as if we might not improve our percentage by much much I had to offer ""bet your mob would have him"

True Class! Not many players in the AFL left like him.

I have always enjoyed watching him play and and I hope to see him play on again next year!

Great news! After the game on Friday, it was mentioned somewhere that he was going to take a week or 2 to decide his future.

Agree with all thats been said about Jonno... He's an absolute legend.

When all the dogs players threw themselves to the ground bawling their eyes out after the final siren, I noticed Jonno held back his own emotions and went to every saints player to congratulate them.

A star, a legend, and a true sportsman!

GOOD ONYA JONNO!!!!

Yep good call.

I must say I was also impressed with Bartel this morning. He showed good respect for us unlike some.
