From the ultimate pessimist...we will win...something spooky about this year.

The tough fought prelim will be an advantage 8-)

Gut = very close, a game that could go either way, definitely not a loss though ... getting more confident

lose

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

We are not setting the world on fire BUT they have surprised me all year, so quietly confident of a win

No, we wont lose. Geelong looked good last night, BUT had no real pressure applied to them in the second half.

Our Saints are the pressure specialists, and Baby Huey and Looney will not get easy shots at goal like they did last night.

round 13 after the bye vs richmond kept scoreless in first quarter then grinded game out in a less then average performace.. then the next week beat geelong..

That got me thinking degruch. Bulldogs I think were the heaviest scoring team in the H&A (I believe?) yet they did look popgun in attack against our defence. I just see so many scoring options for Geelong that I don't/didn't for the Dogs and 13, 44, 23 did not really look like it on Friday.

A lot of these stat counts are crap. I'm not saying the tackle count is complete crap, but l do think it can be misleading at times.

Have a look at the stat counts on nearly every conceivable stat on Friday night, and we were on the bad end of them, BUT we won the game. Especially those inside fiftys. Theres inside fiftys, and theres controlled inside fiftys.

Yes, I see your point, except I think the Doggies have more potential scorers than just about anyone, that's how they got as far as they did without a KP player. Geelong didn't blow us off the map last time, they won't this time either...game on IMO.

Footy Gods to favour a positive attitude St.Kilda

Post: # 826539Post Megamaguire »

With Nicks goal and Kosi's Leo Barry like saving dfensive mark near games end i saw enough positivity to believe the Saints will be irrisistable come Saturday. The titanic struggle over the Dogs will hold the players in good stead. Defensively the players can produce an even slicker result with no early fumbling or hesitation. To get over the Dogs when they were seemingly running at what seemed to be repeatedly 10% faster than the Saints was the best training sesssion the players could have. I don't think the cats can be harder than the Dogs through the midfield whereas a few teammates of Jones can get to his level for the big day.

I keep thinking back to the decisiveness and switched on-ness of the hawks and the surprise it was to the cats last year. If the cats find themselves confronting such decisiveness and strength again they will start to doubt their destiny.

Sainters will win the mental battle and the goals will folllow!

G O S A I N T S !

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
