Underdogs but we finished on top of the dogs.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

the odds should be around even. but geelong are the 'bookies' favourite, as they are holding 12 months worth of bets on them.
any higher odds, and geelong have an 'unlikely' gf win, the bookies will be eating 2 minute noodles and sleeping under bridges till they get their accounts back into the black.

Geelong are favourites with the punters...this is purely money talking. We are the top team, Geelong will be doing the chasing IMO.spert wrote:Ablett wins Brownlow, Cats win easily against second-rate opposition last week, we are the top team and have won our two finals..it all adds up..we're underdogs

I am A OK with Geelong getting most of the media spotlight and been given "favourites" status. This places tremendous pressure on them. All we need to do is go about our preparation quietly and come out with the fully pronged arsenal on Saturday.

Shytes me to, I think it has to do with 1, we took out the dogs, and 2 we are no longer the loosers, its always easy to have a second favorite team that is not a threat, but now they all realise we will win the flag, and theydont like itStSteven wrote:I must say I am astonished. I was enjoing being "top of the heap".

I think most of these people bought the myth of the Pie. They were pumped up by the media who said they were the "form" team, the most likely to challenge us. In reality, the Pie had a soft run, as they always do. I always thought it would be us v the Cats, though for a while last Friday thought the Dogs would oust us. The Cats are the next best side, without question in my mind, as was borne out by their position on the ladder.StSteven wrote:I must say I am astonished. The Cats dispatched Pois very impressively after we had beaten the crap out of the Pois one week, followed by a tough and courageous win against the Craw the next. I doubt the Cats will be able to do the same to us.
I was hoping to go through the season undefeated so I could order my tattoo with a bloody big 25 on top. I will happily settle for a 1 point win against a worthy opponent on Saturday arvo, followed by a year of gracious, supercilious smiling at those who-

Exactly. All it takes is a $100k splurge from a saint and watch them change.plugger66 wrote:Money decides the bookmakers favourite. Other people picking against us doesnt matter at all. It just means that hopefully more will be wrong than right come 5.30 Saturday.
$2+ is a good bet IMO.

Does the same logic apply to us. That is Cats beat the crap out of Dogs but we could only just beat them. The Cats dispatched Pois very impressively after we had beaten the crap out of the Pois one week, followed by a tough and courageous win against the Craw the next. I hope not.
