Training if we win...
got a note from the club in the letterbox,
if we win on Friday night, training will be on Tuesday the 22nd of Sept between 12 noon and 3pm.
Linton street will be blocked between Gwenda and Perry streets from 10am till 3pm. The empty block next to the ground will be available for parking.
I guess they needed to plan it early, but getting that has made me so much more edgy...

I wont be going anywhere NEAR the team training if we get through, in fact I've stayed away during finals this year. I have bad memories from 05 and I dont want to put any kind of hex on the preparations.
Irrational? probably but footy folk are a superstitious lot are we not!

Yeah, and we hoped that Spida was going to play. I recall he was training.doggerel wrote:Who remembers the last training before the '97 GF? There were about 6,000 of us there as I recall. A real carnival atmosphere. The boys did some sort of a harka-type thing at the end of the session...

Seeing as we're getting ahead of ourselves ever so slightly, how good will watching the Brownlow be knowing the Saints are in the GF?
Brownlow night has always been tinged with a bit of sadness and regret for obvious reasons over the last few years.

Ahhh what a load of rubbish!
So the ground has bugger all capacity due to works, and they shaft the traditional Thursday night pre-GF training session.
Can't they hold the Thurs session still but at another venue?
We all know these sessions are "media training", so why not have the late-arvo Thursday session so people can go after work?
Sure, it's school hols, which helps, but midday Tuesday aint much good for many.
Thoughts???

If we win this week i will see them play next week. That is all that matters. Training is overated. by the way they will probably be at the G thursday so they cant do it then.saintspremiers wrote:Ahhh what a load of rubbish!

Re: Training if we win...
anything like hawks training before gf there will be thousands to watch i suggest you get there as early as same with day after gf win or lose they will have a family day we had at least 20,000 plus at ours they had to shut the gate but that did not stop them climbing fences i was there at 7.30am [was going to sleep night but friends talked me out of it] gates were going to open i think 10 or 11 but funny thing is had to open early as crowd was at glenferries road and along it packed to the rafters for suresaint_mite wrote:got a note from the club in the letterbox,

I took this coming week off from work.
I will be undertaking every single footy happening that is on offer.
I missed it all in 1997.
Had to work right up to 1.30pm on GF day....made it to the G right at the end of the national anthem....
Not gonna miss a thing this time around.
