Passionate St Kilda supporter and former Australian cricketer Shane Warne has revealed he's spoken to a few footballers about performing to expectations in the AFL finals.

Warne said the Saints were well positioned to end the club's 43-year premiership drought after winning 20 matches during the home-and-away season and convincingly beating Collingwood in the qualifying final.

Perhaps we should start a thread on celebrities who HAVEN'T given "advice" to the Saints. It seems that anyone of note who even had a chat to a player about the weather will be written up in this way. That's the internet news cycle for you, a new angle is needed each hour.

Warney knows a fair bit about huge expectation and delivering in spades

...in short in the cut and thrust of an international sport he was a proven champion and winner .

All power to him and I hope it gives the boys a lift...wouldn't be surprised if he will be in the rooms on Friday night.

I can't recall an athlete who was so feared. Had them beat before he bowled a single ball.

The way he turned that semi(?) final against Africa in the World Cup is forever etched in my memory.

Im just now waiting to see if we can get some words of wisdom on preparing for a tough gruelling session from Molly....Im just not sure how applicable the advice will be or if he will indeed pass out half way through it....

based on what you've said, you can't have an opinion on anything.

i'll bet if i look at your posts, you've had an opinion or two on a players ability. well, if you haven't played against that player, are you not able to have an opinion.

I have no problem with you having an opinion of the guy but to call him a tosser without knowing him is stupid IMO. He cheated on his wife, not good at all but we dont know what the relationship was like and Im not going to be one to say someone is a tosser for doing that. Been on to many footy trips to get upset with that. He has captained australia by the way. He may not be the perfect role model with a few of his actions but he has never been caught pissed or doing stupid things in public.
