All about attitude: Warne counsels Saints
Scott Spits | September 16, 2009 - 1:29PM
Passionate St Kilda supporter and former Australian cricketer Shane Warne has revealed he's spoken to a few footballers about performing to expectations in the AFL finals.
Warne said the Saints were well positioned to end the club's 43-year premiership drought after winning 20 matches during the home-and-away season and convincingly beating Collingwood in the qualifying final.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

did he give them any advice about taking their mother's drugs..
did he give them any pointers for selling information to bookmakers..
did he give them any tips on texting...
maybe he told them how to pick up a dumb blonde and when to marry her,get divorced, make a big payout ,then get back with her so that they can get their money back....
What a role model....

Talk about the tall poppy syndrome
Warney knows a fair bit about huge expectation and delivering in spades
...in short in the cut and thrust of an international sport he was a proven champion and winner .
All power to him and I hope it gives the boys a lift...wouldn't be surprised if he will be in the rooms on Friday night.

You get either 'what Warnie thinks' or an extra page of blade steak specials. I'll take Warnie.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

I can't recall an athlete who was so feared. Had them beat before he bowled a single ball.
The way he turned that semi(?) final against Africa in the World Cup is forever etched in my memory.

More physically feared. But in terms of game domination Warnie has them covered.claystreet wrote:DK Lillee one endMilton66 wrote:+1saint patrick wrote:Talk about the tall poppy syndrome

Every ball he bowled you were thinking he ould take a wicket.
Cricket just isn't the same without him.

how so? i'm allowed to have my opinion based on what i've seen.plugger66 wrote:Stupid comment unless of course you know him personally.SaintHomer wrote:who cares!
warnie is yet another absolute tosser that happened to have a gift of being a great bowler. imo, he is no leader and certainly not a role model or inspiration to anyone.
based on what you've said, you can't have an opinion on anything.
i'll bet if i look at your posts, you've had an opinion or two on a players ability. well, if you haven't played against that player, are you not able to have an opinion.
lets look at my comment.
i called him a tosser. repeatedly cheating on your wife.... yes, i think that is a pretty good definition of a tosser.
no leader. can't recall he was ever capt of australia, so i mustnt be the only one.
not a role model/inspiration. same reason as to why he is a tosser.
I have no problem with you having an opinion of the guy but to call him a tosser without knowing him is stupid IMO. He cheated on his wife, not good at all but we dont know what the relationship was like and Im not going to be one to say someone is a tosser for doing that. Been on to many footy trips to get upset with that. He has captained australia by the way. He may not be the perfect role model with a few of his actions but he has never been caught pissed or doing stupid things in public.SaintHomer wrote:how so? i'm allowed to have my opinion based on what i've seen.plugger66 wrote:Stupid comment unless of course you know him personally.SaintHomer wrote:who cares!
