If we could get rid of our first and second round picks plus a player we do not want then Reincarnated believes we should go for it
The draft dilemma is a non issue for us. We have to do everything in our power to maximise our period of strength as a football team. If we have success, make cash, get better facilities this will assist players coming through and draw others perhaps to the club
give to get here and Junior Burg is a good one

They are talking on SEN that it could be either of Saints or Hawks...
You'd think it was unnamed because the team is still in premiership calculations, otherwise Hawks would be telling everyone!
Dunno if there is any substance, or just rumours and guessing!
But i would give our first pick for him in a heartbeat!

I'd give them our first round pick + a player (don't now which one) for Shaun Burgoyne, absolutely!!!! He is a Gun!!!!desertsaint wrote:yep - and port have stated as much - and have shown with stevens that they won't accept a token trade.3rd generation saint wrote: If a deal can't be done, then into the draft they go hoping someone selects them.
Paul Cahill's South Australian (but done nothing), Rhys Stanley's South Australian! There's two that could go home!!!!!
Seriously, don't think we could fit him under our Salary cap, especially if we do win the flag!!!

“Yeah….nah””
Ha ha, nice one to get us going. The touch of laziness factor would have me concerned - seriously underperformed. But I would have utter faith in Lyon and the strong player leaders that that would work. Ball and Lenny just feeding it to Dal and Surgoyne - nice! And Joey can go and get it and feed it to anyone or vice-versa. Despite a degree of risk, and particularly given what has been labelled as a weakish draft (note 'labelled', not claiming any expertise), our pick 17 or 18 or so would be out there on offer on my watch. I would highly doubt that that would be enough.
No on Stanley!! I'm looking forward to McEvoy and Stanley for the length of the 'teens. Heyne is also an SA'n?

Sorry, I must be living in a different universe but just how many game sof AFL has Stanley played????
I really rate him, and he has done extremely well for a first year player at the club......But I would trade both him and our first draft pick in a heart beat for Burgoyne....
And I still think Port would be a little hard done by by that.
