Did you see last weeks game or just making it up as you go along. Surely it is better for us as a team that he plays well this week rather than hoping he doesnt so Max plays.ThomasR wrote:congrats Bally, keep pushing Max, surely if Dawson plays his 4th shocker in a row then he cannot be considered for the next one...

Good changes against the Pies I think.
Would love Dawson to get a crack at Rocca and finally put that history to rest, but I think Blake may get the job.
Rocca's presence will lift the Pies, even if he doesn't contribute much himself. He can still spilt a pack open, and this will be useful for their smaller forwards.
That's why I'm surprised we dropped Dempster, considering their medium-sized forwards in Didak, Thomas and Medhurst.
However, all that matters is that we get out hands on the contested footy in the middle of the ground, and Ball and Gardiner will give us the absolute best chance at doing that.
Particularly Gardiner is a really important inclusion for us.
Go Saints!

Actually, the more i think of it, Eddy isnt such a bad choice! Against a team playing so many talls, it will be good to have a high-pressure unit like Eddy in the side to chase them all down!thirty-seven!? wrote:Will be interesting to see if there are any changes to either side on sunday!
Collingwood have made some strange choices! Glad Dick isnt playing and Rocca is!
Surprised that Eddy has kept his spot! I would have preferred Geary, but lets be honest - i'm no Ross Lyon!
Also, with Wood not named, it means losing Gardiner before the bounce would not be as disastrous as previously thought!

So am I correct in saying that the additions to the side which played Collingwood in the finals series 12 months ago are Baker, Gardiner, Ray, McQualter (?), Jones (?), Eddy (?) and Dawson?
I would stand corrected on McQualter, Jones and Eddy.
So, who is missing apart from Harvey (retired) and Hudghton (emergency)?
With Max, I just think that the fact he is not physically guaranteed and could not last out the game before last in the VFL tells against him.
We have to reduce risk.
