The Collingwood/MCG myth?
They've only won 54% of their home games this year...
Their strength is their away form - 81% success rate.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Intersting, they play a lot at the G, thats a poor record, while we have a 100% record at the G this yearThinline wrote:They've only won 54% of their home games this year...

I think there is something wrong with the stats.
Collingwood have played 14 games at the MCG this year, 9 "Home" games and 5 "Away" games. They won 7 of their 9 (78%) and 3 of their 5 (60%), or 10 from 14 (71%). Granted, because they played two "home" games at Docklands and lost both, their home record looks like 7 from 11 or 64%. They won 5 of their "true" 8 Away games (63%). All of which seems to prove little, except that we would have been better off playing them at Docklands. But since they haven't beaten us in a final for 43 years, we shouldn't worry stratospherically.

To be honest Perfectionist I took them from The Age preview and didn't check them.
I thought they looked a little skewy, but thought I'd post anyway.

Your turn.
1992 Elimination final won by St Kilda
2008 Semi Final won by St Kilda
By my count that is 0/3
But you like making stuff up to support your argument

Young man, if you are going to enter the world of stats, at least make a decent attempt, even if you are making it up. First, you said 'since 04', although including 04 only makes the stats better for the Saints,Johnny Utah wrote:04 - 1 win.perfectionist wrote:Ah, geez! 13 wins and 8 losses or 62%!
05 - 0 wins from 1.
06 - 0 wins from 1.
08 - 1 win from 3.
2 from 6. 33%.
Next, the Saints played 6 games at the G for 5 wins in 05, 5 games for 3 wins in 06, 2 from 4 in 07, 2 from 5 in 08 (including the two finals losses), and one from one this year. That is, 13 wins from 21 games.
If you want to make a point about games v Collingwood at the G, then that's another stat. Since 04, it is 2 wins and two losses. We didn't play each other there in 2004.

He did specify games at the 'G in September so he almost got it right.perfectionist wrote:Young man, if you are going to enter the world of stats, at least make a decent attempt, even if you are making it up. It's actually 3 out of 7. Soon to be 4 out out of 8.

My apologies, I was distracted by the original thread. Then again, September action for Collingwood at the G since 04 is not good reading either. One win from four games. Unless a team wins the flag, the MCG September ratio is always going to be bad.kosifantutti23 wrote:He did specify games at the 'G in September so he almost got it right.perfectionist wrote:Young man, if you are going to enter the world of stats, at least make a decent attempt, even if you are making it up.
