Agree totally! I'd probably also drop Zac, I know people on here are saying he played well today, but I squerm every time the ball goes near him!
Don't get me wrong, I don't want him delisted or traded, but fcuk I'd feel more confident with Max in the side!
i dont think he played that well to be honest. sure he got a lot of touches but he is not in the side for that and we've got plenty of defenders to kick the ball around. As a defender he made several errors and i think Max should get a shot.

Yep McQualter is gone. Also they may look at Blake as well.

do you think they will be making any more changes at this stage? the preferred 22 were on the park yesterday! only horses 4 courses will bring about a change (barring injury) with MAX in. but can't see a role for him specially against Pies?!

NO CHANGE is good

IN: Ball Gardiner

OUT: McEvoy Eddy

This is what I think will happen.....a prediction.

What I would choose is far different.

But that's probably too many changes to do going into a big final, so hopefully Lenny's ok and we don't need as many.
How could you drop Zac? the guy played his heart out today and showed heaps of courage, just about BOG in the 1st 3 qtrs
Well Miller's goal (1st of game) was a direct result from Zac not being close enough to him (something Max would never do). I just think in a big game Max is a safer bet and a better stopper.
So Zac who was playing on Paul Johnson is at fault for Miller being loose??
Umm, Paul Johnson didn't play today.
How well am I going??

It looks like tall lumbering Melbourne footballers is not my strong point.

Jaymar??

tough call on Eddy. i think he won the highest % of contested ball for us. I think I'd be inclined to keep him in and maybe let Dempster go for either Ball or Armitage.

If Gardi is right he obviously comes in. I would also like to see Geary get a game he has been in pretty good form as well. As much as i love watching Max i would be concerned on him breaking down again better for him to get another week and come back for the next one. ahhhhhh the riches we have if only we can get back to the form of 8 weeks ago we will be right.

From a low possession count... Contested ball % is a flawed and useless stat when the count is low...

e.g. 1 possies, 1 contested = 100% contested possessions... wow...

A good chance the team will be unchanged, but Gards would be an auto selection, and Eddy probably could have helped his own cause by slotting a couple of majors yesterday, though RL clearly values the player who can run and put physical pressure on all day. Le'ts forget the sentiment about Max as although we would love him to play, he's just not up to the tempo at the moment.

In Luke,Max, MG Out Eddy, Dempster,Big mac.
Id play Max on Davis & Zac on Anthony.Big call I know but Phil Matera was a very classy small forward & Max owned him everytime he played on him .I know Max is injury prone & he not as young as he once was but imo we can play Zac & Max especially against Collingwood or Geelong.

There is no way max could play on Davis at this stage of his career. Max will only play if they drop Zac and I cannot see it happening.

reincarnated

Thought has to be put into the pies medium forwards as all are match winners. Didak, Davis, Medhurst and Anthony

Currently we do not have a great small defender/medium/quick defender in the team

Reincarnated sees that Max has to play. He would take Anthony allowing Zac to take the tall they play down there (whoever it may be)

CJ to Davis and Ball to Didak

Blake to Medhurst and hopefully that does not need to be changed

Haven't seen the pies for a few weeks now - is Travis Cloke still playing and who would you put on him?

Dawson could get the job perhaps or Joe Blake.

Dawson will get Anthony i would think. Fisher will get Cloke. Blake will play on a medium forward.

Dawson will get Anthony i would think. Fisher will get Cloke. Blake will play on a medium forward.
Would Max be a possibility for one of the medium/small forwards? Can't see any room for him at the minute but we are at the prickly end of the season and our defence isn't it's usual miserly self of late. Has Medhurst been getting a game or is he still out of favour?

I still think Zac is vulnerable against a quickish medium/small type and Max's (if fit) closing speed on these lead up players is very important.

I wouldnt be making predictions on where Max's current footy is at from watching Zebra games......Max is a big game player......Id love Lyon to give him his chance - make it clear if at any stage hes not up to it hes gone...so go your hardest.

Max would respond Ive no doubt. His spoiling is sorely missed.
