Don't forget to network, i.e. ask everyone you have ever met, anyone who owes a favour , etc etc .
In 1997 as a member I missed out, but our CEO's assistant knew I was after a ticket , she gave me (yes gave me for free) his two tickets he didnt want.
They were Collingwood Breakfast package tix, half fwd in Olympic Stand -pity we lost.
So, start calling in favours , ringing long lost relatives , make promises you cant keep, whatever it takes.

I'd probably pay the extra $200 and go to the saints function- that way alteas you will be attending with Saints- and meeting saints at the function.Cairnsman wrote:I'm about to pay a minimum of $1300.00 for a GF ticket. This is the cheapest you can get a ticket for without being some sort of member. They can go as high as 3k depending on the package you buy.
Just wondering how much other Saints supporters would be willing to pay that don’t have access to GF tickets through their membership entitlement.

Lol just so everyone knows if we do make it and a member here is a social club member and can't go, I can do them the favour of taking their place.
Also I would pay the $1300 in a heart beat to see the saints in a grandfinal, I just can't help think if they don't make it it's 1300 down the drain.
I do know a couple of AFL members but they will probably attend if the saints make it (Hawthorn fans).
I just wished my MCC membership had come through.

Why not? At least you will probably get a good seat. The football club/social club members will be on level one, in the pocket staring at the back of a point post.Cairnsman wrote:I'm about to pay a minimum of $1300.00 for a GF ticket.
In 1997 we got the very worst seats in the 'G.
When I delivered a couple of tickets to Saints members at the pub a couple who drank there informed me they'd had their tickets for two weeks. On the wing. They'd won them by buying two-minute-noodles. It was going to be the blokes first (and as far as I know the only) footy match.
If companies want to by advertising then give 'em signage - not GF tickets.
I was still at Moorabbin when they shut the football club member queue and it was a disgrace to see so many people (some who we'd seen at the ground for years) miss out.
GF Tickets
Just dropped $1050 each for 2 GF tickets thru the Swans today.
Comes with a crappy Braekfast, with some b grade comic, and a washed up singer.

plugger66, you must be on something illegal to suggest that 22,000 Saints members will be at the granny, when we make it.
11,500 Social club member qualify.
You are suggesting that 10,500 AFL and MCC full members are also St Kilda Footboll Club members.
Who's you dealer?

If we won it,and I wasn't there it would be horrifying, worst nightmare come true. I honestly think it would be more shattering, than if I went and we lost.
If we make it I'll be exhausting all avenues up until 2.30 on the day...if I still don't have one,I'll hold up the ground staff with a shot gun til they let me in.

living in perth, i've got the cash ready to book the flight over there for the grand final. given that it's going to cost me between $700 -$1000 just to get there, i'm not doing anything until i know we're in it.
the problem then is - how hard is it going to be to get a ticket to the GF ? ( am an interstate member, but i'm pretty sure that doesn't mean much when it comes to tickets)

Everyone hates the filth, so the MCG fits 100,000.....100,000-11,500 = 88,500 left over.....
That means on that day, we'll have 88,500 St Kilda supporters!!!

Not sure..but has I have been a SC member for about 3 decades I have already paid a lot more that $1300....Cairnsman wrote:
