Ball..the missing piece of the Jig Saw
Ignore the last two games...where due to a probably a combination of tapering and boys taking the foot off the pedal the saints slipped a bit.
IMO the Saints have virtually all the bases needed for September success.....EXCEPT a hard working contested ball winning inside-mid.....and a medium sized HF.
Now the HF I believe we can work around because the rest of our forward line structures up so well. Roo, Kosi, Schneider. Milne and Mini give us a potent forward line with good forward pressure.
But we need that mid...otherwise the load on Hayes is excessive.
So IMO...we really need to Luke to stand up and play reasonable football.
I suspect that this is one reason why the coaching staff have been foccussing so much o improving Luke of late.
If we can crank Luke up....the other teams will need to watch out!!!!!!!!!
Go Luke !!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, he will kick arseMilan Faletic wrote:Luke Ball will be ready to go. He is a smart guy and he will understand what he needs to do. I think opposition teams, particularly the top 4, will be more worried seeing Luke Ball's name in the midfield. He has the opportunity to come of age in this Finals Series. Go Luke!
I love this club
Good Post
The roles of both Hayes and Ball will be crucial in September. Both are not quick, Hayes advantage is his run and I believe that is what RL is focussing on with Luke Ball.
Our best 22 has both Ball and Max in IMO. If not for just the ability of the two players then it comes down to the very fabric that has bound this group of players together for so long. Goose is another in this bracket but maybe you cannot have all three in the current game style.
Don't forget the MOJO when selecting a team IMO.
It is, more than ever, about what you can do to help the team than just the personnel Kudos.

He will get a good work out on the open spaces and fickle weather today;
against a side that is last years premiers so plenty of opposition to tune up on...
