Will RL leave early Sunday?

Post: # 804140Post 3rd generation saint »

If the result Sunday is a far gone conclusion early in the last quarter, will RL leave early to go to the Filth Bulldogs game?
There's no doubt he will want to scout our opponent for next week as well as the other possible finals opponent.

Better still dont turn up at all.

Let SoS take the reigns.

He should leave Silvagni in charge and go and watch the entire game.
He could even tell the players he is so ashamed of the way they played the last two weeks, he refuses to coach them this weekend.

Melbourne coaching staff will not allow their team to win.
No tags, players out of position and providing mismatches, no use of interchange rotatations.
It is all quite easy and then.......

Melbourne have 17 players on their injury list and didn't they tell Robertson last week was his last..
Any fit senior Mellbourne player who misses out, will definitely be cut.
Like when St Kilda played Hawthorn with 17 players out.
Phillip Raymond was the only senior list player who didn't get a game and he got cut at the end of season.

not sure if this is said in jest or not, but I completely agree with you. I mean, we can't lose honestly. Melbourne waon't want to win, i'm sure. And if we did lose, it wouldn't be won or lsot in the coache's box. Would be a great test of SOS. RL should leave at three quarter time and go check out the next week's rivals.

But will he get in? Won't it be sold out? Or does he get in for free?

Didn't SOS coach them for half a game when we played them in Brisbane earlier this year? Or was that against North up there last year?

Our game finishes at 4.40. The other game starts at 4.40. It would take 15 mins max to get from the G to the Dome. Aint gunna miss too much !!

Am pretty sure it was against Port Adelaide in pre season comp and we got smashed, or maybe it was against Lions in pre season and we got smashed also

1 week out from finals. I want the Ross the BOSS in charge of the team, regardless of how easy or otherwise the game is. We've hardly been in scintallating form in the past fortnight. We should be his first priority - worry about our opponents once we've got our own house in order.

In theory you are right, but this a another bullshyte Round 22 game, where if Melbourne win, all their members will try and kill the board, coach, players etc for losing a 1st round priority pick.

Work that one out Dimwit, if you can ever get your head above that huge sand pile!

Even if our team was full of mafia/drug lord minded types and wanted us to tank/lose to get a bit $12 coin action from the bookies, we'd struggle to come home with the mulla!

i thought sos had the reins for most of the nab brisbane game, the lyon took over late in the game and we stormed home. long time ago now it seems.

Ross and the team could have a good solid hitout till half time,
then decamp to Docklands to study the match-ups,
forfeit the game,
deprive Melb of a priority pick,
still finish top,
and be sweet for Finals week 1.

if we keep playing the way we have last 2 games then it doesn't really matter.
We will be out of the finals in straight sets.

This supporter would be disgusted if the head coach of our organisation left early to watch some other team play

We already have information on both sides and we will send others out to view the game anyway

People cant be serious?

This is our last chance to get everything running absolutely tickety-boo before the finals... he could probably just skip the presser like he did in Tassie.

round 19 this year in tazzie ross and the coaching staff left early or as soon as that siren went to get on board a plane to get to the MCG in time for the dons v lions game.
they must of left with 5 mins to go, or right on the siren because they were on a 5.40 flight home.

Once the game is over, Ross will probably leave the presser to Riewoldt (or whoever is acting captain, as Roo may not play) and head straight to the game.

I seem to remember that SOS coached some of the practice matches and then Ross took back the helm, the team won 19 straight.
If SOS coaches this week then Ross takes back the helm the team would only need to win the next 3 to make me happy. :D :D :D

I imagine... and of course, I've never been in the rooms, so I really have no idea... but I imagine the post-game talk with the players - telling them what they've done right and wrong, geeing them up for the finals next week... I suspect that talk will be remembered by the players for a long time, and I wonder if its too important to leave to someone else. You know, refocus now - we're playing in the finals, leave all these games behind, we start at 0 wins again... and have to win everything. No messing around... get fired up, this is the big time.

I'm sure they do it all week... but this is the turning point. I wouldn't leave it to someone else. I'd be expecting a big motivational speech, myself.

But as I say... I really have no idea how it works in practice.
