Good teams don't lose 2 in a row

Post: # 802504Post SENsei »

That might apply to others, but this year, we are better than good. We are fair dinkum brilliant.

What more perfect run into the finals than a Melbourne team with everything to lose for and everything to gain.

Nothing can stop us. Nothing.

Look, I wouldn't mind dropping one game here or there, but to lose TWO consecutive games, less than a fortnight away from finals is a worrying sign. Add in the fact that one of these teams may not be playing in September, and the other is rubbish - then what can that tell us? We are bad? We were unfocussed? We're tired? We have to switch on from the start against Melbourne, and belt the living crap out of them. 10+ goal win is the only outcome I'm accepting this week.

Carlton 1995 lost to Sydney and StKilda- 2 cellar dwellers 2 weeks in a ros and smashed Geelong in the finals.

Adel i think lost round 22 and the first final in 1998 and won the lot.

Rubbish call

All teams in the Top 4 have lost 2 in a row this year.

St george also lost 2 in a row in the league and they're still on top

Some teams need some losses to get ready for an onslaught

we're a good team, proven by the 19-2 record

Good teams don't achieve an unassailable lead with three rounds of the season left, giving them the luxury of being able to lose two in a row before the finals. That distinction belongs only to very good teams.

It is not possible to become more than a good or very good team before September.

Teams on top of the ladder going into the finals would generally play in a Grand Final..the rest is up to us.

Great teams don't care if they lose 2 in a row.

They simply win their last 3 games of September in a row.

When he was at Hawthorn, our only (to date) premiership coach said it's tough for any side to win a flag if they lose three in a row.

Since 1997, only two premiership teams have NOT lost 2 games in a row.

Obviously Essendon in 2000 and also Brisbane in 2002.
