ST. is an abbreviation for saint.
It also appears on the Ian Stewart medal board.
It is often convenient when we type just to leave out the full stop.

No stopping the saints this year.

I've got news for you Ace.

There is no full stop in St Kilda.

Check any official club information you like.

St Kilda Football Club is St Kilda, not St. Kilda, nor Saint Kilda.
