well leading or bottom- either way it's good to be in the Saints position.

Saints winning injury battle

By Matt Burgan
5:00 PM Wed 19 August, 2009
We rank each team in order of the number of players each club has had unavailable each week, from most to least…
1 – HAWTHORN
Total number of matches missed by listed players: 270
Average number of players missing per round: 13

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
16 – ST KILDA
Total number of matches missed by listed players: 109
Average number of players missing per round: 5
The correlation between St Kilda's remarkable season and its injury list matches up impeccably. No other team has had a shorter injury list. St Kilda's only significant spike in absent personnel was round 19 when it had 14 listed players unavailable. It has been an outstanding achievement by fitness guru Dave Misson and his team at Moorabbin.

Misson is a god!

This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

Actually in round 19 we had 7 players unavailable, the others were resting.

So, our figures should be even better.

About time this stat went in our favour, all thanks to Dave Misson and staff.
Dare say one of our most important recruits

I love this club

I wonder what would have happened if we had Misson in 2004 or 2005. Hamill, Gehrig at their best. Maybe Bally wouldn't have the osteitis pubis probs.

Spot on, Milan F............wouldn't the Club have done so much better with healthier personnel back then!!!! Remember the mishandling of Kossie and his injuries in his second year? I could be wrong but hadnt Kozzie and Roo played together only 20 times in 5 seasons? Injuries.

And everyone in AFL wanted to poach Hamill for their Captain, because we were rotating them. They wanted him because of his outstanding leadership and fearless displays....the human battering ram !! Well, short term gain but long term pain that achieved for Aaron and the Club. I love the bloke for what he did, but...

It's been a blessing, the more holistic focus on our team by the Club's football Dept and executive. I am sure that the recruitment of Ross L. from Sydney, the AFL Club which was most successful in keeping healthy playing personnel on the park, was an absolute master stroke.

Go you good things....!!!
