 Terrible result on the field, and though I'd (almost  ) forgotten the feeling after a loss....it STILL hurts  I'm happy that I was there yesterday among all the Sainters behind the goal...you were all magnificent! And the pre-match drinks at Livewire were the highlight of the day for me, catching up with so many of my pals from this forum.
Be of good heart folks! We have the chance to make history WHERE IT COUNTS (SEPTEMBER) The thing we need now is to have cool heads and strong nerve from here on in!

This is a bit of a worry...replying to me own posts
But I thought the folks behind the lockett end goal were wonderful when getting behind the side in that period just before 3/4 time and right through the last 1/4 the Essendon fans went VERY quiet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..and nice to share the train trip in with ya Jiggster..that hat of yours is a dead giveaway even at the other end of a carriage!

Tried to holler out to you after the game..saw you beetling along heading for the footbridge but you looked like a man on a mission

If the guys had kicked to our end in the last qtr I reckon we could have got them home. Whats the fascination these days with just automatically kicking to the CS end if you win the toss???

 Whats the chance of a "team shot" at livewire before the North game? ...or does no one want to risk their lenses cracking?!
Sorry to miss you on the train Michael...I was wanting to be away from the scene of the crime so to speak! I sat opposite a couple on the train who wore Bombers scarves (and smug grins!) and they seemed surprised at my magnaminity in the face of a loss, their smiles became a little more "fixed/strained" when I said; "that was probably your grand final"
(can't be TOO friendly now can we??? )

I'll try and get there. If I do, I'll have camera in hand.

Sorry about after-match Paul...but had the school run this morning!
It was good to be in your company mate. I hope that you and yours get through this week and that we'll meet up again in September!!!

Regards from your pal

Excellent to catch up with everyone!

I vote we have a catch up at the end of the season before the finals.

Maybe Corner Hotel after the Melbourne match?

The new alcohol rules at livewire really suck.
Mid strength only during the day and one spirit per person at the bar at a time.
What, they serve full strength spirits, wine and champagne in glasses but not real beer.
I spoke to management and they claim that this is now a liquor licensing regulation and it is part of their license.
Apparently the police claim there has been too much trouble there and that this is their way of controlling it.
FFS this is not a 3.00 am night spot with 2000 drunk young fools wanting to kick the crap out of people.
We are mature, respectful Saints supporters who only want to kick the crap out of the opposition teams.
I have spent a lot of time overseas recently and this garb does not exist in most European countries.
What savages we have become.

Leave me alone, i am in recovery mode.
