ZAC Dawson's fairytale run this season is about to extend to his bank balance. The St Kilda defender, who arrived at Moorabbin as a rookie on a base wage of $33,200, will be rewarded with a new two-year contract.

It is understood Dawson, famously rejected by Hawthorn, quietly agreed to terms about a fortnight ago.

I remember him saying at one of the after match social club interviews that he had to be talked into being rookie listed....that he had nearly had enough of the afl rollarcoaster and was ready to get on with life....

Well looks like life is going to be a fair bit wealthier during the next couple of years!!!

Reincarnated says we have accepted Zac so easily due to our team performance but more important our game plan and application of it making whoever plays fullback for the Saints' job much simplerthan years previous

He earns 100+k this year and won't be on 250k imo. More like 180k or something.

I think it could be accurate, 200k-250k isn't unreasonable. With the likelyhood of Max retiring, Xavier possibly taking a pay cut, Hayes moving onto the veterans list, there is so money free'd up.

Wouldnt belive he is the same young kid that was monstered by Rocca a few years ago.
