According to afl.com.au, McQualter is inured. So i guess that selection makes a little more sense

I still think there will be one or two more late injuries. CJ and Blake may get injured at training tomorrow.

Wouldn't be surprised if a few of the returning stars didn't have another week off.

Disappointing that Geary and McEvoy can't get another run, but I guess that's the price of success....

I am happy that Clinton has come up ok, Welsh is supposed to be coming back in this week for Essendon....so it's only fair if they take out one of ours, that Jones takes out one of them!!

The pressure is on boys and girls.

Miss a game, your replacement puts in a "blinder" and guess what?

Return not guaranteed.

The other scenario is that you return but at the expense of another previously established player.

Form is everything, and you can not show form when you are sitting in the stands watching.

I do not think any player will be putting their hands up for a "sabbatical" from this point onwards.

Just too dangerous.

I personally reckon McEvoy might be getting a bit of a rest, and I don't think Bombers are that tall a team are they? (correct me if I'm wrong) I know he's only played something like 12 games, but it's he's still young and might not be as fit as the rest, therefor needing an earlier break than the others.

Does it really matter if they say 32 is injured or not, we all know it's a rest he has not been dropped.

I don't know what is with all the hand wringing with resting players. Other codes do it all the time and with no problems.

Just taken AFL a few years to cotton on.

I am more than happy for our club to leave no stone unturned in getting to the GF. If that means resting, then let's just call it that and be done with it. Be up front, lead the way.

Guaranteed next year it will catch on even more.

Games still have to be won on the field, so let's not get too carried away by names.

EVERY player will be required to maintain maximum performance and maximum effort.

That said, and to be seduced by the "names", the 3 to win the Emergency tag from the 7 Interchange players named will be of interest.

King is automatically in.

From there I would select Jones, Armitage and Steven because each can rotate thru the midfield.

I think the 18 named are very solid and obviously the chosen 18, subject to on-going performance and effort.

And they have their own flexibility.

So that leaves Blake (defender), Gwilt (forward) and Dempster (defender) with the Emergency tag.

And if Steven and Armitage really perform again, then where does that leave McQualter?

As I have said before, not a time to be missing a match or putting in an average performance.

Also I think it prudent to go with the team we want in the finals from here to build continuity - and to ask for the next step to be taken in preparation for finals football.

You do not prepare for finals footy in the grandstand.

Sorry mate, but you've got no clue. Unless they're going to get rested, there is no way armo and steven are ahead of blake, dempster and yes even gwilt. Not in terms of talent, but role in the team.

Sadly, armo and steven are going to make-up two-thirds of the emergency list, again permitting no one else is being rested.

Steven will probably drop out with Gwilt, and maybe Blake or Jones given a rest. Is so they will find it hard to get back in.

gladd ball is in.

you'd think king, jones and blake were locks.

esp with mcevoy being changed out and blake having a very good game last week.

IMO gwilt and dempster vying for last spot.

steven is going to be a gun and armitage looks settled in the senior side but not even spots for them :(

i think armo deserves another shot, king likely (if not -
blake), dempster needs game time, then it's steven or jones.
they may rest jones, but in reality steven won't be in the finals 22 so perhaps we've seen all we'll get of him this year (same could be said for armo).

so armo, king, dempster, steven if resting players.

but if we're looking to settle then king, jones, blake, and dempster.

Only question is now is whether 3 players get dropped.....or get rested....ora bit of both.
