Thank god Milne did not get sacked

Post: # 793853Post barks4eva »

Actually thank Rod Butterss!

FAIR DINKUM

Anyone see Thomas on Footy Codswallop last night?

Again mentioned how he was going to sack Milne, but he got sacked first!

Thomas is a total dickwad, knows SFA about football, was going to sack Milne, would not have touched Gardiner with a 10 foot pole and overpaid himself for 5 years while the players coached themselves!

To think of all the nuffies who thought the sky was falling in when Thomas got sacked,

pfft.......................a gaggle of geeks, gumps, gimps and goofballs,

Thankfully the first thing Ross Lyon did, was to remove Milne from the trade table!

Thanks god, thank Rod Butterss and thank Ross Lyon!

Milne is a star!

Anyone who knows anything about football knows that.

FAIR DINKUM, we are so lucky this numbnut got sacked first!

Yeah, when I heard him say that I was like 'thank god Butterss sacked him'...

But more to the point, thank god they chose RL...

Nope.... he said (or words to the effect) that he's doing well and maybe the penny has 'finally' dropped for him (roll roll), but he still hasn't really proven himself, and only after performing well on GF day will he ring him to congratulate him....

He also inferred that he knew about all the outs last monday when he tipped the Saints on the show...

The guy is fast entering the realm of nuffy-dom and has become the daryl somers of the AFL.

It was actually Ken Sheldon who took Milne off the trade table before RL was appointed. But that is only splitting hairs. I'm sure RL had a say.

As for GT, I actually think he is deliberately trying to fire Milney up. He doesn't want Milne in a comfort zone and as a supporter, wants him on the edge.

Same as Tim Watson coming out to fire up Gary Ablett. Watson's voice, Mark Thompson's words.

IMO.

I was going to post the same thing last night.

Milne is starting to show his true protential under Ross and loving to lay the tackle more then kicking the goal. Never would have happened under GT...

Thank god we finally got the ship moving in the right direction... both board and coach..

There are four reasons not to watch Footy Confidential, so I don't.

Another player GT absolutely stuffed was teh X man

X was always exciting and flying for everything, then one day GT said that he has to do the team thing lalalalalalal etc etc and then was never the same again.

You hear Dean Bailey on Liam Jurrah, yeah i want him to do what comes naturally etc. X has not been the same. He is capapable of it and i want his natural game back

We can learn a lot of lessons from Dean Bailey and Melbourne.

Frankly, I think they are learning a hell of a lot more from us ATM

It's not what i mean.

Liam is exciting, Bailey has said he doesnt want him to change the way he plays as he plays on instinct. I think X has been wrecked since he was told to change.

Obvioulsy i dont want to take anything from Melbourne, i just respect that the coach has said he wants him to play the way he is used to instead of changing him

I believe GT has, on numerous occasions, admitted he was wrong on a number of things, that included.

Perhaps that was before he contracted Relevance Deficiency Syndrome and decided to change his mind.

Ill give you that on Aaron but the team on the whole didn’t practice that..imo

That’s why Aaron was pivotal to the GT sides’ success because of his hardness that no one else was willing to provide...

Alot has changed for the better imo.

But thats mypoint of view and the past journey has shapped us for the run we are having now no denying that..

Maybe has alot to do with more mature heads and less to do with GT. But I stand by my comments re: GT and the past board... again its just my point of view.

Although I am/was anti GT, I'll admit I was on Milne's case a couple of years ago.

Didn't fit into our structures up the ground, and was always being kicked to in contested situation in the forward line.

Therefore, I blame my poor analysis of Milne's ability on the way he was coached back then. :D

I must be a nuff- nuff of the highest order because I like GT and I respect what he did with this band of players, I think his role in developing them has to be acknowledged. I like him on Footy Classified too although that show is in danger of disappearing up its own fundament.
However I agree with Barks - glad we've still got Milney and very glad we've got Ross Lyon at the helm.
