Same. It might be worthwhile to have the design sorted before you get it done and you're too pissed.plugger66 wrote:Hopefully getting one in 7 weeks. it will be my first and only tat. Still not 100% sure i should do it but will probably be to pissed to stop myself.Shades wrote:Who has one?

I don't think you want a tribute to Saint KFC.
I'm not a big fan of them overall, but that sounds like one pretty cool tatt!snoopygirl wrote:For many, many years I have said I would get a tattoo of Snoopy in a Saints jumper if we won the flag. Never really thought it would be a possibility & if I do have to, I still don't know where to put it.
Just remember when you're deciding where it goes that we'll all want to see a photo, so don't hide it anywhere too private!

I am a middle age lady and have always said will get one if we win the flag it will be on my ankle with our emblem all the kids are not olny hoping to win the flag this year but watch me Sunday morning proudly getting the tattoo done with the year 2009 underneath.
Hope my dream comes true to get my one and only tattoo and to win that elusive dream that I have followed for 35 years.

At least all your alcohol from previous day and night would numb the pain.saint1974 wrote:I am a middle age lady and have always said will get one if we win the flag it will be on my ankle with our emblem all the kids are not olny hoping to win the flag this year but watch me Sunday morning proudly getting the tattoo done with the year 2009 underneath.

dont be pissed when getting ink
youll bleed all over the place and the artist wont exactly be happy about that
i have 3 already but no saints ones
i was thinking of getting SKFC across the back of my neck
or an emblem/badge on the back of a calf.
dunno
its not an easy decision and one that shouldnt be taken lightly
get an artist with a great rep and try and find the artwork on people if u can
they all look good fresh and new and wet.
its 5 years later u need it to look good too.
ive been waiting for a while for a saints one
but not as long as some i would gather
and if we go undefeated, well then im gonna need more space, the words change.
its more planning thatn figuring out a holiday trip

Already had a design sorted out back in February, going on to the back of my right shoulder. Already have a couple so its nothing to do with a premiership.
The first couple were permanent celebrations of my kids. The next one is a celebration of my great passions in life - the music of Iron Maiden and the St Kilda Football Club.
The character in the picture with the flag changed to a Saints flag.
Oh, and tattoos don't hurt that much, it's more in ther mind than anything else. I had bad sunburn when I had the last one done and I managed OK.

Let's hope we win the thing and can all turn ourselves into illustrated men and women.
Just be careful...and get it done locally.
PS plugger66, you crack me up every time. If it wasn't for the modern failure to grasp the meaning of 'irony', you'd have legions of fans.

They will not grow old, as those from more northern States grow old.
For them it will always be three-quarter-time, with the scores level
and the wind advantage in the final term.

Yeah for a few years I though the cover of "Maiden Japan" would make a great tattoo, then took a close look at the artwork one day and realised it has the least detail of any cover they have. The Trooper as a tattoo isn't a new idea, Steve Harris has it on his right forearm, but I guarantee it Steve's version isn't carrying a Saints flag into battle!matrixcutter wrote:eddie and a saints flag from the Trooper single
me likey
Great way to combine my passions as well, as I need to keep the tatts to a reasonable number for my wife (who is not a fan of either Maiden or tattoos, although is a fan of the Saints).

matrixcutter is correct. if you are pissed there is a lot more blood, and you still feel the pain.
i know a tattooist and someone who is doing studio arts design, so pretty helpful if we do win
anyway, if i do get something, in not looking for something that takes weeks to design and draw. i think i might just get the logo on my ankle with above it 'PREMIERS' and below it '2009' or possibly replace the 'strength through loyalty' in that thingy down the bottom with 'premiers 2009' OR.... on my arm neat fancy writing saying "stkilda football club premiers 2009"

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

The other one I considered MC, is Eddie from Live After Death, with no background and the 2009 premiership cup placed in his hands:
But the colour becomes problematic when adding a silver cup. Although I thought that having him wearing a tattered Saints jumper may give a better backdrop, it still becomes way too risky that even a really good artist can come up with a good end result.
