The guy is 6' 7".
He was our only tall forward in the absence of Riewoldt - and he did most of his work parked behind the ball when we lost a bit of control around the contests for 15 minutes in the third term and needed a steadying big body back.
The conditions were windy and the surface damp.
The disposal into the forward line was not that efficient - no doubt also contributed to by the number of bodies back for the opposition, which is how they play.
What did the 2 tall forwards offer the other side?
Kosi can not be in two places at once - and that is a direct reference to the way he and Roo generally compliment each other by rotating with at worse one always within goal scoring range.
In those conditions, and against that team, I would not be in any way alarmed by a lone tall forward not being able to get into the game inside the F50.
That said, King was servicable and it was of relief to see him get thru the match after the concerns of last week - his big body was of great benefit - and Gardiner returned with gusto and energy.
McEvoy showed again what great hands he has - whether high or low - and what promise he has as a footballer. His ruck work will come.
The conditions suited Armitage who will come on as a player whilst Steven showed every sign.
Ball played as Ball does but still has aspects to work on in regards getting into dangerous positions and developing his disposal by foot as a more direct weapon and not a loop disposal.
Milne was a continuing revelation - he was previously lauded as a "2 goal a game player" but against top teams (particularly) with bigger bodied opponents he was not scoring and was continuing to cost us goals because of a total lack of defensive pressure - the penny has dropped hence he is a revelation.
Perhaps the introduction of Schnieder, and the work he does, has led the way.
The defence held up well again and for the Clarke knockers I would refer you (for one) to his rolling tackling which delivers exactly what the defensive coach asks for.
He is a big man and they do not get away - plus he has the mobility and skill to counter attack once he has delivered the defensive pressure.
Again it was no coincidence he got 100% game time.
Yet another top game from a top player.
The pressure is on to get the balance right against whatever opposition - but we have options and they all know exactly what to do.
That is a testimony to the Coach and his panel.

From where I was at the ground, Kosi made alot of leads and was ignored on numerous occassions or the player was too slow looking up after checking all sideways options. Service was not good and ball movement a little slower than normal (as to be expected).
IMO, don't worry about Kosi...he'll play his role in September.
