If it's because the emergencies were going then that would be precaution- as easier to fly all out at once.

Weird thing is, I am more excited and looking forward to the game more now than i was post the 5 outs! How funny if we still win (and that is more than a big possibility!)

Gee - was all for some players taking a rest, but this many at once, against a side we might see again in September that we could have put out of the race...am a little surprised...

If all these are genuine then so be it, but this many players out...?

Well, will be good to see what our depth is like.

Obviously a few resting, just the magnitude and all in one week surprises me...it's odd, and borders on disrespectful.

No need to fear the hawks, they can't cause us any problems in september, they're backline is a farce.
However they have huge mental edges on both Collingwood and Geelong...they are capable of pinch hitting these sides out.

Rest the guns, and give Cats and Pies bogey side a spot in the 8.
It's the most genius move ever....love it

I think so too. If we can get up and beat them ( go Zac, go Maxy!) , what an amazing outcome that would be. Kill off hawks, and show our depth.

We've still got plenty of class in there. I haven't written us off in the least. The Hawks were woeful last week and the team we're feilding on Saturday would have wiped the floor with Port! Makes for a very interesting game!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

I think Lyon said back then (re: Geelong's decision to rest a few) it's disrespectul and implied we wouldn't contemplate doing the same "at this time" - i.e. with 8 games left and Adelaide and the Bulldogs and Essendon etc.. still possibly challenging for the top spots.

Now that our top 2 position is secured and with only 4 games left - why not ?

Lyon is consistent if you allow for and take into account his "at this time" quote at the tail end of what he said,

He did hint a fortnight ago that if we had top spot sealed we would consider starting to rest players. Something the media and open line caller muppets overlooked this morning as they flooded there hate on us and Lyon
