Jason Blake to the NRL

Post: # 786680Post Shrappy »

After K. Hunt transfered Codes this week, maybe Blakey should head to the NRL...

How many times can you tackle someone without the Ball????

Go the ball and not the Man...

Cost us 3 goals tonight with scragging that was not needed

I like Blake, but he concedes far too many free kicks. With Gilbo and Dawson to come in, he should be worried.

Wasn't the Blake's best night, but had 4 frees for and 2 against.

So he obviously only held on twice...

Yes he had an off week, but he was great last week.

I don't think one poor game should equate to an automatic omission the following week.

Losing would not have hurt.....and may have uncovered a few cracks.......interesting to see how we go when Lenny and Nick are down a bit.....

and it might deflate the ego's of some supporters who think any critisism of a player is a personal attack and their honour must be defended

I seem to remember he was a standout poor performer in the corresponding match last year too. Did he get Goodes for that game? Blake's a very good player, a true utility player like Goodes IMO, so maybe an obvious choice to go with him (or maybe BJ...but that takes him out of the game). However, there's more than daylight between Blake and a Brownlow Medalist.

Very poor game.

Really looked out of his depth in both marking situations and ground ball. Was continually beaten by his opponents.

From a salary cap perspective Blake was awesome tonight - agree.
It wasn't just the frees, he got beaten by his opponents otherwise, out positioned and outrun.
He had an ordinary match - with Dawson and Gardiner (both 'confirmed' as INs next week in the post-match presser) he might be the one to make way.

He is always vulnerable if he is caught out one on one in the air or he is caught behind..
He needs team mates to support him.
Sydney spread their forwards wide to make the Saints backs play one on one.
Blake needs a low mobility forward, one who he can exploit by running off.

a few games a go, Blake played an absolute blinder and while others were down, he was clearly standing up.

Probably the best game of his career.

I think he had 2 mistakes in a 25 odd quality possession game.

there were those here to remind him of those two mistakes.

seriously just invite him out and shoot him.

He could (probably never will) kick 10 goals a game, and folks will demand he be dropped because of the one point he kicked from 55m on the boundary.

Blake played on White not Goodes. Fisher played on Goodes tonight and got done.
