"THE LID"
When did you tak the lid off?
Do you still have the lid firmly on until the premiership is won?
For me i have had the lid firmly on all year, even after the Geelong win i kept the lid on, i've talked the saints down at times to try and keep this lid from popping off but it's to late i have now firmly removed the lid, we can and we will win the flag.
So what round did ur lid fly off?

i have some very unfortunate news...
my lid is LOONNG gone. in all seriousness though, can someone pleeeeease help me get it back?!
I hate this feeling of expectation and I want to squash it under a very heavy lid again.
Mine came off after Adelaide win. Geelong win was good, as was wet toast, but Adelaide win just seemed to show the gap between us and other contenders (still argue that geelong is equal with us on both our days)

A Hawthorn suporter told me last night that they are going to smash us.
I replied that it could well happen as we have to lose some time, either this year or next!
I don't normally say this sort of thing. Sounds too much like an Essendon supporter of old. I think my lid might be working its way loose. Better hammer it down again.

I'm not sure I was issued a lid - is there some sort of inquiries office that can help me? Can I be issued a replacement lid if I can prove that I never recieved my original club issue lid?

Let me ask the forum this:
What's the job of the lid?
Is it to protect your pride as a supporter?
And if so, ...
How well do you think it will do its job?
And another one...
Are you missing out on anything by "keeping the lid on" ?

The job of the lid is to orbit in outer space after it was blown clear off - My lid came off with the win in Adelaide and the systematic demolition of the two Western Australian teams - I knew that St Kilda of 2009 was a special group of players - it all clicked and they saw it happen - you could almost see the light go on and them all walk a little taller.InkerSaint wrote:Let me ask the forum this:

if you cant walk into work or school on Monday morning loving the football of the weekend then you are robbing yourself of many many wonderous weeks of being a St Kilda supporter.
The lid is in fact useless and should never have been put on!!!!

Agree. I did get really excited a few weeks ago watchng the Dogs. They won easily and I thought they were crap, well compared to us that is and people consider them a threat. Enjoy the ride, this is a very special year, make the most of it. I never put the lid on, so its easy, but I'm not arrogant about it.Sainter_Dad wrote:The job of the lid is to orbit in outer space after it was blown clear off - My lid came off with the win in Adelaide and the systematic demolition of the two Western Australian teams - I knew that St Kilda of 2009 was a special group of players - it all clicked and they saw it happen - you could almost see the light go on and them all walk a little taller.InkerSaint wrote:Let me ask the forum this:

Am enjoying the ride, but the Lid is firmly on.
still worried about the finals.!
one bad injury, one loss at the wrong time in the finals. ugh i'd hate to be on here then.
but still i await with bated breathe for the finals!
and still crossing fingers and toes that the saints continue onwards and upwards.
