Was there with my 4 and a half year old who loved it when the players came to the fence to say hello. Was mostly thrilled by the players he had as footy cards! Very shy around Roo. Loved Kosi. Saw all the other kids getting autographs and wants to go again to get signatures ... of course he can't read but he wants what the other kids have. This was more than a visit to see the Saints ... it was part of teaching him that even great footballers practice and train ... if he wants to be good at anything he needs to practice. It is a concept he is just grasping. So between all of that my opportunity to watch training was limited and their actual training wasn't set plays or anything ... it was more for show ... touch stuff. Gardiner wasn't there. Kosi's hand was still in a glove. Goal kicking practice was not taken seriously - torps for goal etc! Ball was kicking goals from 45 and clearing goal line by 5 to 10 ... so was showing no signs of groin issues. He also did laps after others went in. Joey was a bit sloppy a few times in a kick to kick ... didn't look switched on. Overall there was an upbeat attitude. But it really was a "show" ... not serious training. Although I did miss the first half hour.
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)
